Those of you in Greenwich may recall that time when conservative comedian Alex Stein pranked the Greenwich Board of Education by asking for a litter box in the classroom to accommodate his daughter who identified as a cat.
Or when he trolled Connecticut State Senator Saud Anwar over extending mask mandates for the covid plandemic.
Those stunts took place in the early days of Stein's shtick, before he started trolling politicians in DC, like Alexandria Ocasio Cortez "AOC" and appearing on television with guys like Tucker Carlson.
Stein has since taken his comedic talent on the road, visiting college campuses around the country to debate students on woke issues, with the sincere hope of waking them up.
Last week, he came to the University of Connecticut on behalf of Turning Point USA, even though UConn didn't exactly make it easy to arrange the event.
TPUSA College Field Representative Anthony St. Pierre told us all about the hassle with UConn not wanting to allow a chair at the tent and refusing to allow the use of a speaker so you could actually hear the debates.
The tent immediately started to draw a crowd, though students were understandably a bit nervous about debating Stein on camera and in front of their peers.
The first student challenged Stein over transgender rights, but found common ground on several issues. The student agreed that men shouldn't be playing in women's sports and thought the democrat party's stance on the issue was a huge fail. He agreed that children shouldn't undergo transgender surgeries. He also agreed that young children shouldn't be exposed to transgender ideology in schools.
Another student argued that there's nothing wrong with hanging a pride flag in a classroom—she seems to think it's a nice and inclusive thing to do. She's also blissfully unaware of exactly how much trans ideology has made its way into schools, and seemed genuinely surprised to hear about it.
A couple of students intentionally tried to disrupt the event, including a male hiding behind a handkerchief who shouted insults at Stein, calling him a "pedophile" and a "f*cking clown" on multiple occasions.
When asked why he comes to college campuses, Stein explained that he enjoys debate, and thinks it's the best way to engage in discourse on tough topics and find middle ground.
"People like college debates. It's the stuff people want to see. It's young people that are passionate, that are learning new things, that are dialed in, and there is something I think that is great about that passion that young people have," explained Stein. "If they're conservative or liberal, maybe they'll ask questions on both sides, is this right or is this wrong."
The handkerchief guy started up again, this time trying to drown out a student who was asking Stein about why he preferred posting on social media over traditional mainstream media platforms.
The "furry" removed his mask to mock Stein while other students swore and yelled.
"Grow the f*ck up, dude. You act like you've never f*cking seen a furry before," said the handkerchief guy who later admitted he was there because he just "loves f*cking with people" and being disruptive.
The abortion debates were interesting.
One student asked, "would it be more ethical to have an abortion if you can't support a kid with a good, loving, two-parent household with a lot of income or would it be more ethical to have the baby, and have it grow up in a bad environment?"
The student agreed that it would be better to be alive and poor than dead.
A male student argued that race is biological but gender is not.
"This is why I'm frustrated... is that you admit that a white person cannot transition into a black person, but you actually think that a boy can become a girl," said Stein.
"Being a woman is not the same as being a female," the student argued, though he eventually admitted that he, as a biological male, could not get pregnant after initially saying it was possible.
Another male student seemed to think the transgender thing is just a "non-issue" because only "like a half a percent of the population is trans" so he doesn't see how trans rights infringe on women's rights.
"It's like such a small issue and it takes up so much political space," argued the student who apparently thinks people fighting to protect children from transgender insanity have "boring" lives.
One gal decided to mix it up by dropping the n-word to see if she could get a rise out of Stein, but he didn't take the bait.
In the end, hundreds of students turned out for the event. Many lined up to take pictures with Stein and expressed interest in joining the Turning Point chapter on campus.
St. Pierre was certainly pleased with the results, and Stein said he had an absolute blast debating the UConn students.
