At the Greenwich Republican Town Committee (RTC) meeting on June 25, 2025, an elected Republican representative was asked about the decline of Republicanism in Connecticut. They attributed this to “general demographic trends” which they claimed impact “urban centers” whereas “southern, rural, working class” areas are now more Republican. In essence, they supported the Democrat trope that Democrat ascendancy is as unstoppable as the urbanization Democrats champion, as well as the Democrat propaganda that Republicans are dumb rednecks.
Of course, Greenwich is neither urban, nor working class and 70% have a bachelor’s degree or higher, including the majority at the RTC. But a pass-the-buck mentality permeates establishment Connecticut Republicans and this is part of the reason Republicans meekly accept Democrat “truths” which paint Democrat values as “kind” and “inclusive” while Republican are “cruel” and “selfish.” Such “truth” meets with little pushback from uninformed Republicans, who actively enable and support Democrat attacks and even less pushback from the “Neutral and Silent” establishment CT GOP.
So here’s a refresher: the prior democrat base of union workers has been decimated by democrat policies. The jobs held by those union workers have been exported by democrat globalists (in the mainstream sense) and those jobs have been replaced by service sector jobs paying less than half. It’s not demographics or stupidity that make people in former manufacturing hubs Republicans, it’s that they’ve learned the hard way that globalism and socialism don’t work, and they’re hoppin’ mad.
Perhaps those newly minted Republicans are better informed because they spent less time being indoctrinated by Marxist professors or perhaps it’s the complete lack of republicans, even in finance at places like Northwestern. But despite their finance courses, establishment republicans in Connecticut should realize that the democrats want the government to “seize the means of production” or as Chris Murphy put it, “shift economic power” to the government to the extent they haven’t already done so by moving manufacturing to China, even if the local PTA haven’t yet figured all this out.
What’s more, Republicans who somehow missed the demise of labor unions should have at least heard about Pennsylvania. In PA, the Republican establishment had grown sclerotic and inwardly focused like Connecticut, so the Trump Force 47 organization worked largely outside the Pennsylvania GOP. In the space of 2 years, Trump Force 47 cut the Democrat lead in voter registrations by 75 percent. In CT that would translate to 280,000 new Republican voters.
Specifically, Bucks and Chester Counties in PA, are affluent suburban areas around of Philadelphia with highly educated and affluent voters, more so even than Fairfield County. Between 1998 and 2022, these two PA counties went from having nearly 130,000 more registered republicans than democrats to having 9,000 more democrats than republicans in 2022. This flipped back to a republican lead of 4,400 in two years with a little hard work, including some help from Greenwich volunteers who were disenchanted by local republican attacks.
Make no mistake, painting the rise of democrats in Connecticut as an unassailable trend is part of the democrat agenda just as much as a fake housing crisis. And republican leaders help perpetuate such democrat bigoted stereotypes and myths with their “Neutral and Silent” stance.
Sadly, CT GOP has re-elected the same tired, petty people who are more concerned with hanging on to their shrinking fiefdoms than with supporting conservative values. But republicans should not be carrying water for the democrats. The CT GOP needs to wake up, shake off the neutral and silent nonsense, and actively remind people:
Republican leaders should stop helping silver-spoon-in-mouth Greenwich Marxists like Evan Osnos and instead, they should inform him that making iPhones for Americans and stealing American IP are the main reasons for higher standards of living in China, not the CCP and that Joe Biden was sleepwalking, not dreaming well before 2020.
Remind folks that Cultural Marxists hailing from NYC are perfectly willing to lie both because they are saving the oppressed and downtrodden and because they believe “truth” is whatever “political knowledge systems” manufacture. So while Osnos and his fellow Marxists at Indivisible Greenwich won’t change their minds, the local PTAs will once their children are threatened.
Bottom line: Our elected officials together with the CT GOP should stop supporting Democrat memes about Demographics and tell people that what CT needs are jobs and economic growth which we haven’t seen under Democrat rule for over 20 years. The CT GOP must roll up their collective sleeves and forsake their vows of “neutral and silent” and try to do some work to regain the ground they lost over the past 25 years.
Got that right! CT GOP needs leadership that will fight back at EVERYTHING the Dems propose.... since EVERYTHING they ever propose is detrimental to the interests of the citizens of CT. They need to be buzz-sawed back to where they were in the '60s.
