We first told you about Killingly resident Matt Berube on September 2nd, shortly after he decided to spruce up the decorations around his home, including the addition of a "free speech" board near the sidewalk.
At the time Berube was visited by police who said he hadn't violated any laws. The town also investigated the signs, but decided no laws or zoning ordinances had been broken.
Berube has since decided to take the messages on his house up a notch, adding such lovely phrases as "f*ck you MAGA c*nts" and more.

Plus he changed up the "free speech board" while brandishing his weapon, this time in front of a passing school bus.
Children inside the bus were reportedly terrified after seeing the gun flashed on their way to school, which is just a quarter mile away. Note that the photo at the top of the article was taken by a student inside the school bus.
Once again, the town indicated that the signs are not illegal, but the school resource officer did keep a close watch at dismissal time.
Parents are now reporting that they no longer feel safe sending their children to school, or even letting children walk or ride bicycles in the area. We’re told some parents didn’t even send their children to school yesterday, including Board of Education member Laura Lawrence, out of an abundance of caution.
Meanwhile, Berube allegedly has sent threatening and repulsive DMs to people who complained about his actions and the vulgarity of his display, for example:

Parents just want to be able to feel safe sending their children to school.
"He is disrupting kids lives...many won't go to school because they are scared, we have to pay for extra police to be at the school, and buses have to alternate their route. This is not freaking normal, clearly," wrote a frustrated parent who was fearful of repercussion.
Parents do not want their children to feel unsafe or fear that they are being threatened in any way while at school—especially in light of Charlie Kirk's assassination—and remain concerned about Berube's seemingly escalating rhetoric.

It has been a while since I was my ID county's prosecutor, but we would have found a way to discourage Mr. Berube's overthrow plan. I had 3 variations of 'stupid with a gun' charges, in addition to the usual. In CT, you used to have to have a permit, to keep a gun. People were more careful, lest they lose that. Meanwhile, wow, what a bully! So many things wrong here.
