President Donald Trump posted "No more Sanctuary Cities!" on Truth Social yesterday, pointing out that such cities are "disgracing our Country" and promising to "withhold all Federal Funding for any City or State that allows these Death Traps to exist!!!"
Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey, Alina Habba, appeared on Fox News last night to reveal that her office has launched an immediate investigation into NJ Gov. Phil Murphy after he ordered police in the state not to cooperate with ICE on administrative warrants in violation of federal orders.
Habba promised to charge anyone in New Jersey who doesn't cooperate with federal immigration law with obstruction and concealment.
Border Czar Tom Homan further promised to hold sanctuary cities accountable.
"Look, sanctuary cities are sanctuaries for criminals, bottom line" said Homan on Fox News last night. "The priority is public safety threats and national security threats. For any elected officials to tell his police officers not to help us remove public safety threats from his community which he's responsible for is just sickening."
"They basically have codified law breaking, you know, and made it policy by doing this. That is aiding and abetting those people that broke the law and entered our country illegally," said Sean Hannity.

That brings us to Connecticut where democrats have been boasting boasting about "strengthening" the Trust Act, which makes Connecticut a sanctuary state for illegals, and prevents law enforcement officials from cooperating with ICE.
In fact, State Rep. Matt Blumenthal just posted a reel on the Indivisible Stamford Facebook page all about "An Act Concerning the Trust Act" a couple days ago, right after the Judiciary Committee vote.
"We took a major step today to fight back against The Trump Administration’s cruel, stupid, and dangerous mass-deportation raids. We passed a strengthened and improved Trust Act out of the Judiciary Committee. The bill closes loopholes, improves reporting, and adds enforcement provisions. That way, everyone will have confidence that every state and local official or employee will follow the Trust Act. CT is welcoming to immigrants — and that’s not going to change," wrote Blumenthal on the post.
Blumenthal explains that the Trust Act is what prevents Connecticut law enforcement from assisting ICE except under certain circumstances. He says it's what allows "immigrant communities" to feel comfortable interacting with state and local agencies and law enforcement so they can "live without fear of deportation," even those here illegally.
"The Trump Administration is terrorizing immigrant communities by grabbing people randomly off the streets in raids and even deporting people who have a legal right to be here in the United States," says Blumenthal, aiming to scare his constituents.
By the way, the proposed bill Blumenthal is talking about, HB 7212, was would remove the following language from Conn. Gen. Stat. § 54-192h:
It would be replaced with much more specific language around exactly how and which Connecticut officials can interact with Immigration and Customs Enforcement ("ICE").
The proposed language in the bill prevents law enforcement officers, bail commissioner or intakes, assessment or referral specialists, and/or employees of school police or security departments from:
The proposed language also prevents the disclosure of a person's immigration status; address; workplace or hours of work; school or school hours; the date, time or location of a person's hearings, proceedings or appointments with the public agency that are not matters of public record, except under certain circumstances (e.g., a signed judicial warrant).
It restricts public agencies and their officers and employees from using interpretation services provided by a federal immigration authority.
And it requires public agencies to report to the Office of Policy and Management on an ongoing basis every six months, data regarding any federal immigration requests for disclosure of information.
Will Connecticut Democrats continue to support the Trust Act in any form -- the current version or the "strengthened" version -- knowing they are risking losing Federal funding to the state? And knowing they themselves could be next in the crosshairs after Gov. Murphy?
Here’s a win for N J:
