You know a protest movement has completely lost the plot when its organizers have to email fellow activists asking them not to bring swastikas to their events. That’s where we are with the #TeslaTakedown crowd — a group of self-styled “anti-fascists” who somehow can’t figure out that flaunting Nazi imagery might just send the wrong message.
On May 2, the organizers behind #TeslaTakedown blasted out an email to their mailing list urging demonstrators to reconsider using swastikas on protest signs — not because it’s morally repugnant, but because it might be a bad look. That’s right — they’re not even condemning it. They’re “not scolding” anyone, they just gently suggest that maybe, just maybe, the Nazi emblem isn’t great for protest optics.
The email might as well have said: “Hey comrades, maybe ditch the swastikas — it’s making us look bad.” These aren’t freedom fighters — they’re bored rich kids playing revolution between therapy sessions and oat milk lattes.
Here’s the punchline: they’re not upset that swastikas represent genocidal evil — it’s that they might make potential “allies” feel “unwelcome” or get you slapped with a hate crime charge if you happen to vandalize someone’s Tesla.
This is what passes for moral reasoning on the activist left in 2025: “Sure, carry a swastika, just don’t jaywalk with it or you might face legal consequences.” Forget dignity, forget historical evil — it’s all about legal risk management and brand messaging now.
Even more nauseating is the casual lie that swastikas are a “MAGA” problem. According to the email, Trump supporters have carried them at protests — an accusation with zero evidence and plenty of projection. The reality? The people caught glamorizing Nazi symbolism these days are often the same ones who scream “fascist” at anyone who disagrees with them and want Elon Musk censored into oblivion. And now they’re upset that people might mistake them for fascists? How about just don’t act like one.
Let’s not forget the context. This is a movement that has harassed Tesla employees, vandalized property, and smeared the company’s founder — all while pretending to stand for “democracy.” But now they’re worried their protest signs might be misinterpreted. Maybe don’t include actual Nazi symbols if you’re trying to come across as the voice of reason.
And yet, they still sign off with “In solidarity.” Because nothing says solidarity like telling your comrades, “Try not to look too Nazi-ish while trespassing.”
This isn’t a movement — it’s a toddler-level meltdown dressed up as activism. If the best defense they can offer for their tactics is please don’t interpret our swastikas the wrong way, they don’t deserve sympathy — they deserve ridicule.
You don’t save democracy by marching with fascist symbols. And you don’t build moral credibility by writing emails begging your side to cool it on the Nazi cosplay.
If just one of these pathetic individuals spent as much time and energy at a job, minding their own business, and being responsible for their own livelihoods, instead of protesting every petty little grievance they've been told to be offended by, they might be just a tiny bit more satisfied with their lives and a lot less angry.
