With the Stamford election six weeks away, Mayor Simmons believes she is a wonderful and discerning leader.
But is that really true?
Well, let's review some of the deeper facts that might help the electorate better understand what is actually happening behind the scenes in Stamford.
On purpose, Mayor Simmons allowed the Stamford Planning Board Chair, Jennifer Godzeno, to continue in her role despite her expired term as a Democrat, and despite a Board of Representatives vote (25-no, 14-yes). The facts go even deeper. This board chair is now a member of the Working Families Party, a hardcore Marxist organization closely aligned with Democratic Socialists like Bernie Sanders and Zohran Mamdani.
Land grabs and overwhelming city systems (e.g., water, sewer, traffic, parking, busing, etc.) are how socialism and Marxism work—these groups want to own all public and private property. It is all about having more power and control for themselves. It’s obvious, Mayor Simmons has designed this board (1 Marxist, 2 Democrats, 1 Republican, 1 Unaffiliated) so she can be assured on September 30th that they support the 2035 Comprehensive Plan.
Wake up Stamford voters—there is a big difference between democracy and socialism!
Other legislators, congress members and prominent individuals from Connecticut are on a mission to disrupt our society by using their socialist ties with the Working Family Party, Democratic Socialists of America and even the CT Communist Party.
These powerful individuals have all been involved in one or more of these groups, according to KeyWiki, including: Richard Blumenthal, Joe Courtney, Rosa DeLauro, Joelle Fishman, Craig Gauthier, Jahana Hayes, Win Helmer, Jim Himes, John Larson, Ned Lamont, Chris Murphy, John Olsen, Edwin Vargas Jr., and the list goes on and on.
Mayor Simmons’ troubles began early in her mayorship. All nominees that Mayor Simmons put forth to the Board of Representatives (“BOR”) in December 2021 were approved, except for one. Josh Fedeli did not receive an endorsement for the Fire Commission.
During Mr. Fedeli’s tenure as DCC (Democratic City Committee) chairman, he allegedly had a history of “bullying” women and being a “misogynist" who "behaves like a tyrant" according the Executive Director of the Connecticut Democratic Party.
After a long discussion, the BOR vote was 6-1 against Fedeli with one abstention. “His lack of decorum and respect has been shown to so many people,” stated another BOR member.
Despite the feedback from the BOR, Fedeli was later assigned to Mayor Simmons’ transition team’s policy committee on public safety. This did not require BOR approval.
Mayor Simmons appointed Erik Findeisen to the Stamford Police Commission position in December 2021, because he would be valuable in reviewing rules and regulations within the Police Department. He was CEO of a Stamford-based data service company in which he improved systems and processes in the private sector.
Arrested February 2024 for patronizing a prostitute, a class A misdemeanor, Findeisen applied for accelerated rehabilitation. When the program was successfully completed, the charge was dismissed and the court file statutorily sealed. According to his attorney Phillip Russell, Findeisen was identified on camera and involved in a “small number of instances over a couple of months.”
Knowing this, Findeisen quietly resigned from his Police Commission post November 2024, more than a year before his term was set to end. In this position he had broad powers which included appointing and promoting officers, approving department rules, conducting investigations and disciplining officers. In hindsight, could Mayor Simmons have vetted this person more thoroughly?
Now the issue of discernment becomes personal for Mayor Simmons. Art Linares, her husband and former Republican state senator for Lyme and Old Lyme (2013-2019), initially fought against cannabis. He publicly stated it was a “gateway drug,” and said it contributed to the ongoing opioid crisis. He also made clear that young people were becoming “addicted to relieving pain with this substance.” Linares, who is no longer a senator, backtracked on his argument and now owns a stake in a cannabis business.
In addition to legalized marijuana production and use in Connecticut, lawmakers enacted “social equity” regulations to offer business opportunities for people who were disproportionately affected by the fifty year-old War on Drugs.
One of the chosen “social equity” applicants was Connecticut Social Equity LLC.
According to the state business registry, this company is part of a complex partnership: Connecticut Social Equity Holdings LLC/principal; Linares Faye LLC and Van Scoy LLC/two principals in holding company; Linares Faye LLC/3 principals—Art Linares at the address of a $2.3M Shippan home, Brian Faye of Southington and owner of New England Home Mortgage, and Luis Arturo Linares of Essex.
Van Scoy LLC is the social equity partner. As required by law, he is president and owns and controls 65 percent of the company. As a backer, Art indirectly owns more than 5 percent of the business, and he and two other partners own the remaining 35 percent. Is this how government and bureaucrats work? Can they be trusted? Can Mayor Simmons be trusted?

Mayor Simmons' track record of making controversial appointments, combined with the swampiness of her husband's business affairs and the Marxist company she keeps, should do more than raise eyebrows for Stamford Residents -- it should send people to the polls in droves in November to VOTE HER OUT. We need to protect Stamford.
