Two radical anti-Israel groups at Columbia University made a shocking post on social media yesterday, calling for the "total eradication of Western Civilization."

The accounts responsible for the post include Columbia University Apartheid Divest (CUAD) which is a coalition of 116 student groups who see Palestine as "the vanguard for collective liberation" and Columbia University’s Bengali Student Association (CUBSA).

Together the groups posted on Instagram:

We are Westerners fighting for the total eradication of Western civilization. We stand in full solidarity with every movement for liberation in the Global South. Our Intifada is an internationalist one—we are fighting for nothing less than the liberation of all people. We reject every genocidal, eugenicist regime that seeks to undermine the personhood of the colonized.

As the fascism ingrained in the American consciousness becomes ever more explicit and irrefutable, we seek community and instruction from militants in the Global South, who have been on the frontlines in the fight against tyranny and domination which undergird the imperialist world order.

CUAD joined CUBSA in solidarity to "protest against the fascist, autocratic government" of Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina earlier this summer, calling to "annihilate these demons" as part of the "global intifada."

"DOWN WITH HASINA. DOWN WITH THE AWAMI LEAGUE. GLORY TO OUR MARTYRS. POWER TO THE STUDENTS. The global student intifada cannot be silenced," the students wrote on July 24th.

According to Human Rights Watch, Sheikh Hasina resigned on August 5, 2024, and fled the country after weeks of student-led protests.

As a reminder, CUAD is the group that earlier this year took over Columbia's Hamilton Hall as part of the Palestinian liberation movement.

At the time the group issued five demands to the University, including financial divestment from everything tied to Israel, an academic boycott of all Israeli universities, stopping the "displacement" and "land grabs" and instead giving reparations to "oppressed" people, defunding public safety and ending policing on campus, and immediately issuing a statement calling for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

CUAD's website says it seeks "an end to all interlocking systems of oppression through collective action and solidarity with oppressed people worldwide."

The group's vision includes an "entire world free from colonialism and imperialism, and from all the interrelated systems of oppression that uphold them."

    Sounds like a communist revolution.

There are many times when I consider myself useful.
And there’ve been many times when I have been an idiot.

I can say that with confidence that I have never been a useful idiot.

The shame of it all is that our State and our nation are now inundated with them.

And what’s worse is that the breed believes their knowledge to be wisdom.

And most appalling is the leverage that they now garner over the whole.

    Hmmm.

Can anyone else say “national suicide”?
