Well-known Connecticut political activist and veteran of the Tea Party wars Bob MacGuffie has decided to challenge progressive Congressman Jim Himes in the 2024 general election in CT-4.
Himes is known as a reliable vote for the Biden agenda in Congress; MacGuffie says that is one of the main reasons to oust him.
"This election will be a referendum on Jim Himes’s 14 years in office. Mr. Himes has clearly failed his constituents.”
“Votes for such mis-named 3,000-page bills, such as the Inflation Reduction Act have provided Mr. Himes cover for his alignment with the most radical elements of the Democrat party, which persistently direct, legislate and regulate the country through an unwanted ‘fundamental transformation’.”
“Himes’s votes for some $20 trillion of debt over his tenure, a $170,000 debt burden on every household in the District.” MacGuffie noted that he “publicly warned Mr. Himes in ’09 and ’10 that his reckless spending votes would lead to a debt crisis and his vote for ObamaCare would lead to an upending of the healthcare industry, fewer healthcare choices, and massive increases in healthcare costs.”
“We can see daily that this transformation is shrinking American life for the vast number of Americans who go to work and make our great country function. This agenda must be opposed in its entirety,”
