Rensselaer, NY, police have just arrested Moises Alejadro Candollo-Urbaneja, 22, and Gregory Marlyn Galindez-Trias, 24, who are suspects in connection with the homicide of a 59-year-old man at the Super 8 motel located off the I-95 Exit 6 southbound ramp in Stamford, Connecticut.

Rensselaer police allege that both of the suspects are part of brutal Venezuelan street gang, Tren de Aragua.

Candollo-Urbaneja and Galindez-Trias appeared before Rensselaer City Court Judge Linda Blom Johnson yesterday to face fugitive from justice charges. They waived extradition hearings and will be returned to Stamford, CT, to face charges which include first-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny, first-degree identity theft, conspiracy to commit first-degree identity theft and criminal liability for acts of another.

The illegal immigrant couple was arrested as they walked down the street with their two children, shortly after using an ATM card belonging to the homicide victim at Amtrak’s Albany Rensselaer Station.

Galindez-Trias said in court that she was afraid what Tren de Aragua might do now that she's been arrested.

She was also concerned about what would happen to her children, ages 1 and 3, who were turned over to the custody of Rensselaer County Child Protective Services.

Coincidentally, Connecticut officials were just warned in September about the likely expansion of Tren de Aragua into the state.

Meanwhile Stamford police are still investigating the homicide of Angel Samaniego, 59, who was found dead on Sunday at the Super 8 hotel on Grenhart Road early Monday morning.

Samaniego’s death was ruled a homicide by a "gunshot wound to the chest" according to the Connecticut state office of the chief medical examiner.

Stamford police reported that Candollo-Urbaneja and Galindez-Trias had stolen Samaniego’s vehicle and personal belongings after the shooting death.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement were notified about the arrests, and placed a notice to hold the two.
