After years of persistent efforts to expose voter fraud and election corruption in Bridgeport, Fight Voter Fraud, Inc. (FVF) welcomes the announcement that five campaign workers have been formally charged with absentee ballot fraud in connection with the Democratic mayoral primary election in 2023.

Chief State’s Attorney Patrick J. Griffin announced last week that Wanda Geter-Pataky, Alfredo Castillo, Jazmarie Melendez, Margaret Joyce, and Maria Pereira face charges that the CT Mirror cites as "forging signatures, registering non-citizens to vote, telling people how to vote, changing votes after they were cast and harvesting dozens of absentee ballots so they could be delivered to drop boxes in the city." The charges come after extensive investigative efforts and mounting evidence of election misconduct that Fight Voter Fraud, Inc. has contributed to bringing to light.

“The state has finally taken action, but this is only the beginning,” said Linda Szynkowicz, Founder and CEO of Fight Voter Fraud, Inc. “We are pleased to see these individuals face justice, but more work must be done to restore public trust in our elections.”

Fight Voter Fraud, Inc. initially pursued legal action against Geter-Pataky and other Bridgeport election workers by invoking Connecticut State Statute 9-368, a state statute that allows citizens to demand accountability for election law violations. In November 2023, three Bridgeport voters, after reviewing court records and evidence, signed affidavits pushing for arrest warrants for both Wanda Geter-Pataky and former City Councilwoman Eneida Martinez. Fight Voter Fraud, Inc. brought the case to the Connecticut Supreme Court in May 2024. Despite clear evidence of misconduct, the presiding judge declined to issue the arrest warrants and declared the statute unconstitutional. Fight Voter Fraud, Inc. responded with a writ of error to the Connecticut Appellate Court, challenging the judge’s decision and advocating for Bridgeport voters’ constitutional rights.

Cameron Atkinson, attorney for Fight Voter Fraud, Inc., echoed this sentiment: “While we are disappointed that it took the state well over a year to act on the fraud in Bridgeport, we are pleased that prosecutors finally took action. But much work remains to be done. Prosecutors have ignored over 200 documented violations of Connecticut election law that we brought to their attention. We urge the Chief State’s Attorney to take election crimes seriously and establish a statewide task force to address this growing issue.”

Fight Voter Fraud, Inc. is continuing to demand action on additional cases of suspected election fraud across the state. The organization has identified 114 more instances of potential double voting and submitted its findings to the Governor’s Office, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of the State, and both major political parties eight months ago. The State Elections Enforcement Commission (SEEC) has yet to act on this evidence.

Szynkowicz made it clear: “We will not stop fighting until every instance of voter fraud is investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The people of Connecticut deserve nothing less.”
