• American Death Wish: Worshipping Death

Outside of politics and religion, which are always impassioned subjects, several other topics in American society generate a passion that borders on religious fervor. The one thing they have in common is centering on Life and Death.

Listening to the voices on the left demanding women’s right to choose and railing against those who supposedly want to steal women’s rights away from them, my first reaction was to think I certainly want women to have rights, and I want them to be able to choose. But I thought about the words we use to frame this issue. One side says they are pro-choice, the other pro-life. These are the PR descriptions. Both ideas seem good. Choice certainly is, and so is life. Yet somehow this is a battle royale with each side ready to fight to the death.

Framing the issue as pro-abortion vs anti-abortion tells a clearer story. The pro-abortion side says the unborn child is not yet a person and therefore it is simply a piece of a woman’s body they are choosing to remove, a mass of cells like a wart or a mole. The anti-abortion side says the unborn child is just that, a child not yet born but nonetheless alive. Arguing when a life begins obfuscates the basic facts. No matter what you call an unborn child, it is alive. An abortion does end some form of life. In 2023 over one million abortions were performed in America. Seeing the abortion and vasectomy mobile unit parked outside the DNC in Chicago as if it was a Red Cross blood donation truck was a ghoulish reminder that choosing abortion is a choice of death.

Another important issue that seems fanatical in nature is climate alarmism. The Climate cult brays about the existential global doom that lies just beyond the horizon. The campaign for zero carbon might as well be a campaign for zero life. All life on earth is based on carbon. Every plant and animal is a carbon-based life form.

The Climate fanatics hold up carbon dioxide as the boogeyman that will destroy the earth. Besides water, carbon dioxide is the one thing all plants need to live. And plants are the one thing all animals need to live. Carbon is cycled through the atmosphere and oceans into plants and animals and back again. When those plants and animals die, the carbon is deposited into the earth. Eventually, we get coal, oil, and gas. They are called fossil fuels for a reason. These fuels give us energy, industry, and agriculture. It is all part of the carbon cycle of life on Earth.

When searching for life on other planets the two critical compounds our scientists look for are CO2 and H2O. Find those and you have the basic foundation for life. Far from being a pollutant, carbon dioxide is necessary. Without it the entire plant kingdom would disappear, followed by all animal forms of life including man. Without carbon, there would be no life. Zero carbon means total death.

The globalists want their expensive EVs to save the Earth, EVs that require the Earth to be severely raped for the chemicals used in their batteries. Right now children in Africa are being exploited to dig for those chemicals to build those batteries. Batteries that, when they don’t catch fire, need massive amounts of electricity to charge them that wind and solar cannot possibly produce. A wind turbine farm requires ten to twenty times more raw materials than a natural gas plant, needs six times more space, and produces far less energy. In a sick irony, the elites demand climate compliance from the general population here in America and from the poor populations trying to eke out a living in underdeveloped nations, while using enough energy in their multiple mansions, limousines, and private jets to supply a small town.

Banning fossil fuels condemns poor countries to famine, illness, and death. The Climate Cult reminds me of the doomsday cults like Heaven’s Gate, Jonestown or Waco that finally succumb to their own predictions in a suicidal self-fulfilling fashion. Let’s hope we can avoid a similar outcome.

The Death Eaters demand we tear down the statues of heroes past and seek to tear down the culture itself. These are the very men who brought democracy and freedom to the modern world. Death to America isn’t just a chant in Iran. It is the death rattle of a nation consuming itself.

There are those who pretend to follow science and yet deny the biology of man and woman and will literally destroy a man or woman using chemicals and surgery. And not just the woman or man of today, but all potential future people as well. The puberty blockers and hormones used sterilize the victim, and if by some miracle they didn’t, the surgeries make reproduction unlikely. Death becomes her.

The most acute threat to life is the threat of war. War remains the one arena where killing other human beings is widely tolerated. When it comes to war, those religious passions rise up again. Advocates for peace come in all shapes and sizes, making their case on the simple preference for life over death. It makes sense that those pushing war are far more impassioned. Advocating for wholesale death and getting widespread agreement from men to kill takes more than a calmly reasoned argument.

The worst dramatization of Death lies in the spiritual realm. For the nonspiritual Death Eater, life goes on for a relatively small number of years and then it ends. Where there once was life, there is none. Death, the end. Deader than a doornail. The materialist can tolerate no mention of God, no intelligent design, and certainly no immortal spirit. One need only experience death close up and personal to recognize the existence of the spirit and the essential role it plays in life. The denial of the spirit is the ultimate display of Death worship.

Life and Death are topics that can inspire religious zealotry. When a culture worships Death it isn’t long before it gets what it wishes. Life, on the other hand, expresses the joy of creating today and holds the promise of tomorrow and beyond. On which side of that dichotomy one falls, speaks volumes.
