    Honorable Secretary Rubio,

In your Press Statement dated January 22, 2025, Priorities and Mission of the Second Trump Administration’s Department of State, you stated that “President Trump has given me a clear direction to place our core national interest as the guiding mission of American foreign policy.

As a citizen of the United States and Connecticut, I have long supported the America First policy of President Trump, having voted for this agenda in 2016, 2020 and 2024.

My current junior Senator, Chris Murphy, is antithetical to this agenda.

Senator Murphy openly stated in 2020: For years, I have met on occasion with Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif, during both the Obama and Trump Administrations,on an overseas trip to the Munich Security Conference (MSC), he spoke with the Iranian Foreign Minister and President Zelensky, on behalf of the United States.

The Federalist in a February 2020 article citing his twitter account, wrote, “[M]urphy also described his “goals” for meeting with Zarif, but admitted that he “cannot conduct diplomacy on behalf of the whole of the U.S. government, and I don’t pretend to be in a position to do so. But if Trump isn’t going to talk to Iran, then someone should.

And let's not forget all that lobbying he did for Burisma.

It is clear that Senator Murphy has a history of conducting meetings in order to undermine foreign policy, which is obviously a hypocritical stance.

During 2017, Murphy demanded an investigation into General Michael Flynn because he had a phone call with a counterpart in Russia. “Any effort to undermine our nation’s foreign policy – even during a transition period – may be illegal and must be taken seriously,” Murphy said.

At the same time, Senator Murphy has held multiple meetings with President Zelensky, “At our September meeting with Zelensky, I made a point of telling him that getting involved with Rudy Giuliani and the Trump reelection campaign was potentially disastrous for Ukraine. And I knew that I had to deliver the same message to Zelensky now.

He also has close connections to the George Soros Open Society Foundation, even speaking at their dinner as one of the keynote speakers. “On Friday night I attend a dinner hosted by the Open Society Foundations and the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. I am one of the dinner’s speakers, and I make the case to the distinguished attendees that, “Americans are frankly losing faith in democracy, as are Europeans. Democracy hasn’t delivered during the past fifty years for people in my country. Wages aren’t going up, retirement is getting harder, climate change is still a menace.”

These statements made by Senator Murphy are in direct conflict with your stated goals: “[d]o away with climate policies that weaken America” and “[r]eturn to the basics of diplomacy by eliminating our focus on political and cultural causes that are divisive at home….

Senator Murphy has continued to display divisive values that undermine President Trump’s America First policies both at home and abroad.

Plus, he has close ties to globalist Alexander Soros.

This relationship has always caused me and many others to question whether Senator Murphy puts Connecticut, or the U.S. for that matter, first.

In fact, Murphy even admitted that the people he cares about the most are illegal aliens!

His personal relationships with leaders of multiple countries seem very much counter to U.S. foreign relations. Is it even the job of a Senator to engage in these kinds of meetings and conversations with foreign diplomats and leaders?

As stated you are “eliminating some practices,” the practice of Senator Murphy of engaging in foreign diplomacy needs to be eliminated. I do not want my Senator overseas attending these meetings representing the United States. Please do not let him or any other government official, who is not America First, attend these events. Starting with the 61st Munich Security Conference (MSC) taking place from February 14-16, 2025.

Having Legislative branch elected officials and their representatives engaging in foreign diplomacy is a practice that has to be stopped. This is undermining the State Department and President Trump. When they are talking to these leaders they are not doing it on behalf of the current administration, but on behalf of themselves.

I pray for you and all of the US State Department that you will be successful in returning America to its place as a world leader.

    God Bless.
