Bob MacGuffie just picked up two endorsements in the race for Connecticut's 4th district.
He is hoping to take on US Congressman Jim Himes in November after winning at the CT GOP convention in May, but he must first face off against Republican Dr. Michael Goldstein in a primary on August 13th.
MacGuffie said, "Today I'm honored to announce that Laura Devlin of Fairfield has endorsed my candidacy for the Republican nomination for Congress in Connecticut's 4th District. Laura is a four-term state representative, a nominee for Lieutenant Governor, and the current RTC Chair in Fairfield."
"Laura is also a kindred spirit with us from grassroots organizing. CT does not have toll roads because of her leadership in organizing both within the Legislature and closely coordinating with the grassroots side of the effort, where I played a role. Ever grateful to Laura for her belief in my candidacy and her Endorsement," continued MacGuffie.
Devlin said, "I am proud to endorse Bob MacGuffie for Congress. A long-time Fairfielder and a former finance executive, Bob has been a consistent voice for individual rights and liberties enshrined in our Constitution."
"He is focused on the issues important to the people of the 4th Congressional District and will bring refreshing leadership centered on representing and delivering for the District," she continued.
Devlin spoke during MacGuffie's campaign event at Elicit Brewing in Fairfield last week, joining around 80 people who showed up to support Bob, including Dan Miressi who lost to MacGuffie at the CT GOP convention.
Miressi said it was a great honor to formally endorse his new friend rather than issuing a primary challenge before he went onto describe the challenge we are facing in Connecticut being ruled by a what he called a "left-wing communist leviathan."
He said that MacGuffie has been preaching for America First, Connecticut first agenda for a long time.
"With Bob, he is our Ron Paul. He is our original Tea Party guy," said Miressi who talked about how MacGuffie was attracting more young Republicans into the fold.
"At the end of the day, we're anti-left, we're anti-Democrat, we're pro Bob MacGuffie, and we're going to do whatever we can to bring him through the finish line. And I'm proud to endorse him!" said Miressi.
