On April 19th, the former leader of the Hollywood-produced farce that was the Congressional Investigation of the Jan-6 Riots, Congressman Bennie Thompson (D) of Mississippi introduced HR-8081 - Denying Infinite Security and Government Resources Allocated toward Convicted and Extremely Dishonorable Former Protectees Act. The single subject of this legislation is: ‘Termination of United States Secret Service protection for felons.’
This hateful proposal, issued by a vocal left-wing partisan targeting former President Trump, managed to acquire eight Democrat co-sponsors. The Bill proposes to remove Secret Service protection from Trump based on the idea that he was convicted of felonies in a NYC case widely criticized as a political show trial. After the recent Supreme Court ruling on Executive Privilege, that felony judgement is in serious jeopardy, and likely to collapse in a September hearing.
One has to wonder… would President Trump have survived this long had this bill, which is still winding its way through Congress, been passed by a Democrat-controlled Congress?
In fact, under the failed "leadership” of the Secret Service D.E.I. hire Kim Cheatle, requests for a larger security guard around President Trump have been reported to be repeatedly turned down, despite the very high threat level President Trump faces on the campaign trail.
The endless examples of excessively venomous condemnations of President Trump… as well as other high placed Republicans…in the past seven years, have brought us to this highly perilous point.
From Maxine Waters urging people to "get up in the faces" of Trump supporters and telling them they are not welcome; to Chuck Schumer hysterically raging that Supreme Court Justices Kavanaugh and Gorsuch would "face the whirlwind" because they voted to devolve the issue of abortion back to the states (shortly before an assassination attempt on Justice Kavanaugh at his home by a young, leftwing activist); to the left-wing media endlessly echoing false Democrat charges that Trump is an "existential threat" to Democracy who must be stopped; to President Biden castigating Trump supporters as Nazis; and finally to CT-4’s representative Jim Himes, who this year has repeatedly referenced Trump as a fascist and wanna-be dictator.
In fact, Himes, just Friday on CNN called President Trump “a felon, a criminal who has promised to turn this into an authoritarian country… can you avert a second Trump presidency?” Well Jim, one such 20-year-old decided Saturday that he’d have a try at “averting a second Trump presidency.” As with so many divisive issues in congress, Mr. Himes simply employs his Harvard vocabulary in service of the goals of the most active and subversive voices of the Marxists driving the agenda of today’s Democrat party.
So, now we have HR-8081; it begs the question for us here in Connecticut's 4th District: where does the self-described "moderate,” Jim Himes stand on this proposed legislation? Does he support such a radical leftwing proposal… or is the proposal so blatantly and insanely dangerous that even the ultra-partisan Himes will oppose it?
Or will Mr. Himes resort to type… and simply remain silent about the whole thing until he can get past yet another election without revealing his hard-left voting record, and thus blow his carefully constructed fiction that he is a "thoughtful," moderate Democrat?
The fact of the matter is, that If Mr. Himes does not outrightly and publicly condemn Thompson’s vengeful and mortally dangerous proposal, and the eight radical Democrats co-sponsoring it, then Himes is complicit in whatever harm such a law would bring. And right now, his silence is complicity.
If you want a Conservative candidate who will continually challenge Jim Himes for his actions and votes against the interests of the citizens he purports to “represent,” I would be honored with your vote in the Republican Primary on August 13th . A referendum election on Mr. Himes is the only way to bring him to account, and return true representation of CT-4’s citizens in congress.
