"I was a strong fiscal conservative, using conservative principles to address social needs; voting for welfare reform; advocating school choice; and supporting a strong national defense; yet I was pejoratively labeled, a RINO, a Republican In Name Only," wrote former U.S. Representative Chris Shays in an op ed in Connecticut Insider in 2022.
"I learned I was called a RINO for two basic reasons ... abortion and gun control," said Shays before he accused the Republican Party of "fast becoming a cult, supportive of Trump, regardless of his infamous conduct."
He further suggested that the country instead needed "a president who speaks to our higher nature, works day and night to unite us regardless of the opposition, and encourages elected officials in both parties to once again put their country first..."
Shays finished the op ed by suggesting that Joe Biden "could have been that President, and maybe still can be..." but now that Kamala is at the top of the ticket, it seems Shays is more than happy to endorse her.
In fact, Shays joined the RINO group “Republicans for Harris" alongside other Republicans-in-name-only like Joe Walsh (R-Ill.), Susan Molinari (R-N.Y.), Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.), former secretaries Chuck Hagel and Ray LaHood, former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham, and others.
The group will be part of a “campaign within a campaign,” according to Harris’ team, which plans on targeting primary voters who backed RINO Nikki Haley, the former U.N. Ambassador.
Wonder if Shays is still going to complain about being called a RINO?
Or if he will just go ahead and register for the Democrat party since he's decided to support a full on Marxist for President instead of an America first loving conservative like Donald Trump?
Not just support Kamala, but Shays has actually worked to disseminate propaganda and misinformation about Donald Trump that directly benefits the Democrat party.
Why would any real Republican do something that undermines his own party?
For instance, Shays has promoted the idea that Special Counsel Jack Smith’s indictment was "serious and credible" but it turns out Judge Aileen Cannon ruled the entire case should be thrown out because the appointment of Jack Smith had violated the Constitution.
Shays has frequently repeated propaganda about J6, falsely claiming that Trump had encouraged "his supporters on Jan. 6 to violently attack the United States Capitol" even though a simple search on X proves that Trump did no such thing and Shays is lying.
Trump clearly asked everyone to "remain peaceful" and called for "no violence."
"I can never support a former president who denied his election loss, sought to reverse the legitimate outcome of the election, and then set his supporters to assault the Capitol during the final process certifying the outcome of the election," wrote Shays in another op ed.
Ironically, Shays voted for notorious "election denier" Hillary Clinton in 2016.
Shays has called Trump "foolish, crooked and dangerous" and an "angry, immature and flawed human being" and he just can't comprehend why any Republicans would vote for Trump.
So rather than working to find unity with the majority of Republicans in his party who support Trump, Shays has chosen to divide his party and help Democrats instead.
He’s not an R, hasn’t been one for decades in spite of the label and party registration. He is yet another shining example of people who believe repeating lies, trying to gaslight the public and spread mis/disinformation will sway anyone with a working brain. Here’s some news, Chris: nobody cares what you think. You aren’t even important enough to get a paying gig from CNN or MSNBC. You’re just not relevant and nobody cares what you think. Sad!
Is Chris Shays a man or is he a mouse?

That the intended essence of the United States, that Judeo-Christian principles and personal responsibility have become vulgar, even vice?

CT voters are fools. This isn't about Democrat v. Republican. This is about our government v. 'We the People'. They've done a great job dumbing down society. Many citizens blind trust is leading us off a cliff. People flock to the polls with good intentions but cast their votes against themselves because they aren't taught can't conceive the system is broken!
