It seems Congresswomen Jahana Hayes (CT) and Delia Ramirez (IL) desperately want to keep the systemic racism narrative alive by introducing a resolution to declare racism a public health crisis.

Congresswoman Hayes has led the introduction of this resolution since 2020.

A similar resolution has been introduced in the Senate by Senators Alex Padilla (CA), Cory Booker (NJ) and Mazie Hirono (HI). Senator Richard Blumenthal (CT) is a co-sponsor of the resolution.

"Across our nation, communities of color face deeply rooted and systemic barriers to quality care and health outcomes. This has resulted in lower life expectancies for people of color," said Congresswoman Hayes. "Declaring racism a public health crisis is a step towards delivering a more equitable and healthier future for every American. It is unacceptable for anyone to be denied adequate care or access to medical resources because of race, and Congress must work to address the barriers to quality care faced by communities of color."

The resolution highlights the alleged effects of "systemic racism on the health and wellness of communities of color, resulting in shorter life expectancy, worsened health outcomes, and enhanced exposure to harmful or dangerous environments."

The resolution argues that "years of neglectful and apathetic policies" have "led to poor health outcomes for members of racial and ethnic minority groups."

It recognizes racism as a "social determinant of health" and asserts that "since it's founding, the United States has had a longstanding history and legacy of racism, mistreatment, and discrimination that has perpetuated health inequities for members of racial and ethnic minority groups."

It recounts the history of discrimination in the United States, from "the oppressive institution of slavery from 1619" and the "overt racism" that was "embedded in the development of medical science" to more current times... arguing that "members of the Black, Native American, Alaska Native, Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, and Latino communities are disproportionately impacted by the criminal justice and immigration enforcement systems and face a higher risk of contracting COVID–19 within prison populations and detention centers due to the over-incarceration of members of those
communities."

It alleges that "subtle or implicit racism" and "microaggressions" (e.g., denial of the importance of race, denial of individual racism, promotion of the "myth of meritocracy") still to this day causes "disproportionate physical and psychological harm" to racial and ethnic minority group members.

It blames "racial segregation in occupation sectors" for differences in rates of employer-sponsored health insurance by race.

It blames racism for producing stressors that over time lead to, for example, high blood pressure, hypertension, anxiety, depression, and/or other mental health issues.

And it perpetuates the myth that George Floyd was killed by police.

The state of Connecticut recognized racism as a public health crisis in 2021.

Yet, of all the issues facing America right now, Congresswoman Hayes thinks it's most important to keep the systemic racism narrative alive.

Meanwhile, President Trump promised to end all illegal DEI discrimination and preferences in his January 21, 2025, Executive Order.

"Longstanding Federal civil-rights laws protect individual Americans from discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.  These civil-rights protections serve as a bedrock supporting equality of opportunity for all Americans," said the Executive Order.

Most people are happy to see an end to "discrimination in the federal workforce, and in federal contracting and spending.”

These foolish Dems. To a one, they each swore to us that ObamaCare would bring EQUITY to healthcare (and cut family premium costs by $2,500 annually). And that was in '09-'10. THEY enacted it and costs have skyrocketed since. All the Dems do is complain about healthcare - THIS is their system - we're all laboring under it. With these fools - every day is a new day, a blank slate to baldly lie upon. These people need to be shown the door. God help us all......

  1. If Ms. Hayes would consider historical context, she would understand that variations of slavery have been and still are, in fact, perpetrated by ALL races, that racism is practiced by all races.
  2. The essence of America conflicts with ALL wealth redistribution schemes. That the Federal government and all State governments are not in accord with this idea nor with the U.S. Constitution is a travesty. End all schemes now.
  3. If she wants collectivism, how about she and her ilk say as such.

Race-sim toward just the blacks ? Correct ?

Ed Vidal

The most systemic, institutional and structural racists in America are:
1. Black fathers who abandon their children;
2. Black mothers who kill their unborn children in the womb; and
3. Black brothers who shoot each other in the ghetto.
After them come Anglo progressives, as pointed out by Malcolm X.
