Ten democrats decided to join Republicans today in voting to censure Congressman Al Green, the democrat from Texas who disrupted President Trump's address on Tuesday, and was subsequently ejected from the joint session.
The ten democrat Congressmen include: Ami Bera (CA), Ed Case (HI), Jim Costa (CA), Laura Gillen (NY), Jim Himes (CT), Chrissy Houlahan (PA), Marcy Kaptur (OH), Jared Moskowitz (FL), Marie Gluensenkamp Perez (WA) and Tom Suozzi (NY).
So that means Connecticut's other Congresspeople, all democrats, including Rosa DeLauro, Jahana Hayes, Joe Courtney and John Larson were perfectly fine with Green's disrespectful behavior.
Himes said on social media that he believes "rules, decorum, and accountability are important regardless of political party and beliefs. If we cannot stand on principle and act with the seriousness our nation deserves, our government will devolved further into the kindergarten it has already become."
Members of the group Indivisible posted on Facebook that they were "disappointed to see our own Representative Jim Himes among the 10 who voted with Republicans to censure Rep. Al Green" and encouraged other members to attack Himes on social media for his decision.
