Democrats received their talking points about last night's debate, and it seems the narrative is "Kamala looked presidential."

You've probably heard that phrase parroted at least a dozen times in the mainstream media by now. Heck, the Washington Post even published a critique of the debate entitled, "Looking presidential at the debate."

Chris Murphy certainly got the message.

Murphy is best known by Connecticut conservatives for his masterful gaslighting, dubbed "Murphlighting" on social media.

Take, for instance, Trump's comment about migrants eating pets. Murphy retweeted the clip about the comment, suggesting there were "no credible reports" of pets being harmed. He said, "They make up these racist, crazy stories to pretend you need to fear immigrants or people who are different from you."

Remember when Murphy said the people he cares about most are illegal immigrants?

It turns out Trump's claims of pets being harmed are backed up by police video of an arrest and court records of a woman charged with allegedly killing and eating a cat in Ohio.

And it wasn't just a cat, another video shows a man offering comments about Haitian illegals allegedly decapitating ducks from parks and eating them.

That story seems consistent with a leaked 911 call from another man who claims to have witnessed Haitian migrants carrying dead geese in Springfield, Ohio.

Then Murphy flat out lied about Trump's position on abortion, saying, "he confirmed HE WILL SIGN A NATIONAL ABORTION BAN."

    Trump said no such thing.

Murphy is hoping that his followers didn't actually watch the debate -- another example of Murphlighting.

He's not the only gaslighter in Connecticut.

Congressman Jim Himes joined the fray last night as well, taking a swipe at Trump's comment about "transgender operations on illegal aliens that are in prison."

Even CNN fact checked this one, and confirmed that Kamala did in fact tell the ACLU in 2019 that she supports providing gender transition surgery to detained migrants.

Himes also retweeted a post debate comment that said, "Donald Trump has a real problem with the truth."

But it was Kamala who repeated hoaxes that have already been debunked, like the Charlottesville "very fine people" hoax which was finally debunked by Snopes earlier this year.

Then Kamala repeated the “bloodbath” hoax which is based on a comment Trump made while talking about the auto industry and tariffs. Here's the full quote from Trump:

Trump's comment suggested that Biden's policies would have created an "economic bloodbath" for the auto industry and autoworkers. Of course, that didn't stop the Kamala HQ team from spreading the lie that Trump was "promising a bloodbath" on social media earlier this year and repeating the lie again last night.

As far as Murphy and Himes are concerned, Kamala performed like a rock star last night. She delivered her well-rehearsed lines as planned, and largely refrained from the cackles and word salad she normally offers.

Himes even alleged Kamala was “openin’ up a can of whoop-ass” on Trump.

But when Trump threw one of Kamala's quotes back in her face, he won the "viral video of the debate" award, hands down.

P.S. Despite the eye roll, Kamala really was big on "defund the police" according to CNN.
