The Rev. Jacob W. Dell, Pastor of The First Congregational Church of Woodbury, is calling for an urgent investigation into the "national threat" that "law-breaking churches" pose to religious liberty.
Dell contacted US Attorney General Pam Bondi, Dan Patrick of the Religious Liberty Commission, and Connecticut Attorney General William Tong on the matter.
Two recent videos (here and here) from Project Veritas served as the tipping point for Rev. Dell, and as inspiration for his sermon this past Sunday.
"The videos expose a Hartford-area pastor providing a minor with a chest binder without parental consent and contributing to a teen’s suicide by encouraging gender-affirming care against parental wishes," wrote Rev. Dell to Bondi, Patrick and Tong. "These unlawful acts, like counterfeit currency, devalue law-abiding congregations’ worship, damaging their reputation and social and spiritual capital."
"Connecticut’s Constitution (Article First, Section 3) offers a remedy against such licentiousness, but these acts harm communities nationwide, as falling church attendance shows," wrote Rev. Dell, who wants to investigate law-breaking churches and halt practices that undermine true religious liberty.
The provision referenced by Rev. Dell offers a possible legal tool to challenge progressive churches promoting behaviors—such as facilitating minors’ access to gender-affirming support without parental consent—that may undermine public order and moral standards.
Without intervention, Rev. Dell is concerned that law-breaking churches risk further destabilizing Connecticut’s civic and religious landscape.
The revival of Rev. Dell's own church, the First Congregational Church of Woodbury, where membership doubled from November 2024 to May 2025, demonstrates the viability of orthodox leadership in revitalizing mainline churches.
Since 20–30% of mainline churches are at risk of closure by 2035, it seems Rev. Dell's ideas should be worthy of consideration.
Pastor Dell,
Great job! The tranny kids thing is the most slam dunk issue ever. It's that thing that you know absolutely for a fact that future historians will speak well of anyone who fights the tranny kids madness.
It seems to me that the sort of " " clergy that would put children on a path to gender confusion and sterilizing hormones and even mutilation surgery has no fear of God or of anyone.
God is still watching of course.
