“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness” (Romans 1:18)

Is Attorney General (AG) of Connecticut William Tong disqualified from holding the office of the Chief Law Enforcement officer in CT?   His recent statements violated his most important responsibilities by withholding the full truth about two important issues. He is likely (purposely?) misleading the citizens of CT.

Connecticut’s Attorney General has the responsibility to act as a public advocate, enforce federal and state laws, and protecting the public interest. (Per the Office of the Attorney General William Tong.) When Tong misleads the public about the deportation of illegal immigrants and the dangers of gender affirming care, isn’t he violating his most important responsibility and ignoring the interests of the public? Does this disqualify him?

    Deportation of Illegal Immigrants

There are currently 113,000 unauthorized (illegal immigrants) currently in CT per the Migration Policy Institute, 2024. How many of these are a danger to the public? How many have been identified as violent criminals, pedophiles, sexual offenders, national security threats? Federal numbers identified at least 15,000 convicted or accused of homicide, 662,566 with criminal histories, and 20,061 suspected rapists. (Nelson, 2024)  These convicted and accused criminals are the priorities for deportation according to the new Trump administration and the new Border czar Tom Homan.

'I've been clear, President Trump's been clear. Public safety threats and national security threats will be the priority because they have to be – they pose [the] most danger in this country,' Homan said. (Caralle, 2024)

Tong, in his recent public presentation, gives the impression that all immigrants are in danger of deportation.  This is a total misrepresentation and miscommunication that gives the impression that the Trump policy is somehow planning to be evil and unlawful. Here is Tong’s quote:

“It is the policy and it is the law of the state of Connecticut to respect, honor, and protect immigrants and immigrant families here in Connecticut, period, full stop,” Tong said. (Cross, 2024)

At a rally and press conference at the State Capital on November 16, Tong promised to fight against federal attempts to overstep Connecticut laws from immigration to reproductive rights to LGBTQ+ rights.

“This is the sovereign state of Connecticut,” Tong said. “Constitutional Law 101 — we delegated limited powers to the federal government, but beyond those powers, Connecticut gets to decide how Connecticut wants to live.” said Tong. (Cross, 2024)

Harboring and/or protecting illegal immigrants who are criminals is the opposite of what voters said they wanted in the November 2024 election results.  They want safety.  They want the federal government to deport criminals.  Doesn’t every AG need to cooperate and support this effort?  Isn’t it their most important responsibility?

AG Tong has a personal and emotional story behind his reactions. His parents immigrated from China. AG Tong explains they were seeking asylum. He then creates the impression the new Trump administration is going to denaturalize American citizens and that’s what makes it personal for him and his family.  He seems to suggest HE might even be deported.

“(When) they say that they’re going to denaturalize American citizens, they’re talking about my parents and my grandparents,” Tong said. “When they attack the American-born children of immigrants — people who are born here with birthright citizenship — and they talk about denying those children birthright citizenship, they’re talking about me.” (Cross, 2024)

Trump’s DOJ opened a division dedicated to denaturalization. The purpose is to revoke US citizenship for those who represent a threat to public safety and who are not natural born citizens.

“The team will target terrorists, war criminals, sex offenders, and "other fraudsters", the DOJ said…."The Trump administration will say if you haven't done anything wrong, you shouldn't be afraid," (Prasad, 2020)

Once again, AG Tong leaves the impression that the new Trump administration is unlawful and evil. There is no provision in the denaturalization law that threatens natural born citizens. Is AG Tong making misleading, partisan and irresponsible statements? Does this disqualify him? Why would an AG, whose main job is to protect public safety, object to removing criminals who are a threat to public safety?

AG Tong told the truth about the federal authority over immigration law and enforcement.  The Supremacy Clause of our Constitution states that federal law takes precedence over any conflicting state laws. (Legal information institute) Furthermore, section 287(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act allows the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to enter into written agreements to facilitate immigration law and deportation proceedings. (American Immigration Council, 2024)

Is AG Tong saying he will not cooperate with DHS?  Doesn’t that decision put the CT public at higher risk? The priority (as stated earlier) for DHS is to remove safety threats and national security threats first. Is AG Tong’s decision not to cooperate irresponsible?  Does it disqualify him from holding the office of AG?

    Transgender and Gender Ideology

AG Tong wrote a legal brief saying schools should be able to secretly transition students from one gender to another without parental knowledge and/or approval. (Wolfgang, 2024)

This decision is flawed on at least three levels: legal, moral, and scientific. By hiding transition discussions at schools from parents isn’t AG Tong again violating his most important responsibilities of enforcing the law and being a public advocate?

The Supreme Court of the United States has determined parental rights.

“This Court has determined that parents have a fundamental right to direct the care, custody, and control of their children. This Court also has 3 determined that the government shall not interfere with this right unless and until a parent is proven unfit.” (Supreme Court of the United States, 2020)

Seventy percent of CT citizens are Christian. Christians believe in the dignity of human life and gender is a gift from God.  Therefore, gender is not bestowed by others. In my opinion, hiding discussions about gender from parents becomes a moral issue.

Gender Affirming care discussions is encouraged in many CT schools. (Parents Defending Education, 2023) Gender affirming care includes irreversible treatments to those suffering from gender dysphoria.  These treatments include puberty blockers and surgery.  Puberty blockers are used to delay sexual development. These treatments are unproven and often result in serious irreversible outcomes children regret. (The Cas Review)

Connecticut Attorney General Tong has demanded in a lawsuit brief that a Connecticut mom defer to school officials and her children must be socially transitioned against her and their father’s will and even without their knowledge.” (Wolfgang, 2024)

By recommending deception AG Tong is violating parental rights as stipulated by the Supreme Court and ignoring the faulty scientific evidence.  Is this disqualifying?

    Summary

    “God hates … a lying tongue…” Proverbs 6:16-19

CT citizens deserve the full truth. They also deserve an AG who will fulfill his responsibilities without personal and partisan statements resulting in misinterpretations.  Do CT citizens deserve an AG who is overly emotional and who uses “red herrings” to distract the citizens and put them at higher risk?

Do CT citizens deserve an AG who helps parents to protect their children from the harms of gender affirming care? Do they deserve an AG who tells the full truth?

I call on AG Tong to reissue his statements to include the full truth. Will you confess AG Tong or resign?
