The Connecticut Senate Democrats are apparently confused.
They seem to think that the current rise in hate incidents on college campuses has been driven by "Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans" when the truth is likely quite different.
It's actually much more likely that diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs which promote critical social justice are to blame.
Critical social justice teaches that the U.S. is systemically racist and was founded on white supremacy. Everything is viewed through a lens of power, oppression and privilege. People are not viewed as unique individuals, but as part of specific identity groups described by immutable characteristics like skin color, gender, sex and so forth. And that everybody should always be working to “decenter whiteness” which means to avoid using the characteristics of white supremacy, like a sense of urgency, objectivity, and perfectionism.
"At its worst, DEI is built on the unshakable belief that the world is divided into two groups of people: the oppressors and the oppressed,” wrote Dr. Tabia Lee, a former DEI Director. "Jews are categorically placed in the oppressor category, while Israel is branded a 'genocidal, settler, colonialist state’.”
"In this worldview, criticizing Israel and the Jewish people is not only acceptable but praiseworthy,” said Dr. Lee.
Students who have been whipped into a frenzy, thanks to years of social emotional learning lessons and DEI indoctrination sessions, now stand ready to take on the latest oppressors who are, in this case, Jewish people.
That's a much more likely reason you're seeing a rise in hate on college campuses.
It's not because of Donald Trump or MAGA Republicans.
