State Sen. Rob Sampson (R-Wolcott) applauded the senate’s unanimous passage of his co-sponsored resolution honoring Vietnam Veterans exposed to the deadly chemical Agent Orange by acknowledging their service-connected injuries—including cancer—from this exposure.
Sen. Sampson championed the resolution on behalf of Wolcott resident and Vietnam Veteran Brett Muccino, a fixture of the community, who was affected by the deadly chemical.
“Vietnam veterans like Brett returned home after serving our nation, regrettably to little fanfare or gratitude. It’s time that we fully recognize the sacrifices of our Veterans, as well as their exposure to deadly chemicals like Agent Orange. This exposure and related injuries have made the lives of Vietnam Veterans extremely difficult. People like Brett are an inspiration to us all,” said Sen. Sampson.
The Senate unanimously adopted the resolution on May 1, and it now awaits action by the House of Representatives.
