Stamford Indivisible had quite a line up for its No Kings protest: Stamford Mayor Caroline Simmons, Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont, Secretary of State Stephanie Thomas, Congressman Jim Himes, State Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff, and others.

Music filled the air before the speakers took to the stage.

    Stamford No Kings (10/18/25)

They had a singer belt out some tunes and a preacher who preached the gospel of DEI.

Stamford Mayor Caroline Simmons joined to let everyone know that she and her democrat colleagues reject everything Trump has done.

"Together we reject President Trump's attacks on judges, the free press, our elections, the very core institutions of our democracy," said the Mayor, who was endorsed by Obama.

"We reject his rollback of reproductive rights and the overturning of Roe v. Wade. We reject his constant attacks on the immigrant community and the inhumane tactics of ICE, and we will always stand with our immigrants," said Simmons as she rejected "his attacks" on DEI, the LGBTQ community, civil rights and complained about him being an "authoritarian" and what not.

She even said Trump was a bad role model for kids.

Governor Lamont was a special guest at the protest.

He delivered basically the same speech in Stamford that he delivered in Greenwich.

Right down to the corny comments about Bob Marley being one of the "founding fathers" and breaking out into song at the end. Talk about well-rehearsed!

Jocelyn, an educator and member of the Connecticut Education Association teachers union, followed Lamont and specifically gave a shout out to all of the "inflatables" out there who were apparently trying to make the protest look not threatening.

She said public schools are under attack.

She's upset about parents complaining about pornographic books and drag queen story hours, Trump's "attacks on peaceful protests" on college campuses and the rollback of "inclusive" curriculum.

And she doesn't want to see teachers getting fired for social media posts.

Secretary of State Stephanie Thomas took the mic next.

She said she hesitated about speaking at No Kings because she "takes the nonpartisan part of her role very, very seriously."

"But then I remembered something," said Thomas. "It is not partisan to be patriotic. It is not partisan to believe in the rule of law. It isn't partisan to follow the United States Constitution. It isn't partisan to believe in liberty and justice for all."

"And I know abuse of power when I see it," claimed Thomas. "And there is one thing I know for sure. We do not do kings in America."

She seems to think we're staring right into the face of fascism, and suggested the Trump Admin was committing "atrocities" pretty much every day.

She told people they have to take action, as she outlined a long list of options, including economic boycotts so that no one "funds their own oppression."

Little Bob Duff repeated the line too.

"We don't like kings in this country," said Duff. "We've got no use for them."

He couldn't imagine what our founding fathers would think about a President deploying a "masked paramilitary force to abduct people in the streets."

"What would they say if they saw a president attempting to jail his enemies without a shred of evidence," Duff asked and the audience responded without thinking, "No Kings."

He wanted to make sure that all of the followers in the crowd voted in the municipal elections in order to prevent any "mini-MAGA-lands" from taking hold in Connecticut.

Much like Gov. Lamont, Rep. Jim Himes delivered more or less the exact same speech that he gave in Greenwich, more evidence of the level of coordination and planning for the democrats' big whine-fest.

Himes puts on a good show for the crowd, and possibly missed out on an acting career.

"This country was founded to end kings," said Himes during his over-the-top performance.

He said our country isn't just a bunch of "rich white men" like it was 250 years ago. That's because these days "we bring women in, we bring Black Americans, Brown Americans, LGBTQ Americans."

Himes then suggested Trump has become an "evil and grievance-laden half-king" who is "stepping on the law, stepping on the Constitution and dividing us against ourselves" ... but nonetheless promised that democrats would "prevail."

The protesters marched around Stamford after Himes finished.

Traffic was a mess, but the boomers who attended seemed to think they "made a difference" even if none of them could articulate exactly what that difference was.

And just like every other protest of the season we've seen, there were plenty of "86-47" signs and posters of Trump as Hitler.
