Families Demanding Justice and Dare To Struggle CT teamed up to stage three protests in Connecticut yesterday against alleged "police brutality" as part of a national action.

Two events took place in Guilford -- one at Guilford High School and the other at E.C. Adams Middle School -- and one took place in New Britain at Central Park.

The Guilford protests were staged to appear as if they were "school walkouts" and included a handful of disgruntled comrades shouting over a megaphone and banging a drum.

The protest was quite small, and most unwelcome by parents.

At least one Guilford resident, Alexandra Nicole, called BS on the claim that these were organic "school" walkouts.

"This is insane! These kids are 11-13 y/o - and you went on to school property - on a half day to make it look like a “walk out” screaming about police brutality to kids whose parents/aunts/uncles/ family members are police officers - and for what? So you could be ridiculed by them? I was there and heard them tell you to “f… off” to “go home/back to where you came from” “freaks” and then laugh at you to your faces!," wrote Nicole.

"Our police in Guilford Police Department are amazing and have done amazing things for our community including keeping it safe - which is why people want to move there!," she asserted. "Stop breeding you ignorant hate in our community! Please and thank you!"

Hate, indeed.

A quick search revealed that Families Demanding Justice and Dare To Struggle CT hate the police with a passion, and refer to them as "pigs".

The parent organization for Dare To Struggle, which also started Families Demanding Justice, describes itself as a "multinational organization open to anyone who wants to resist and stop injustice no matter who holds political office."

The group claims that "police brutality and the police murder of Black and oppressed people" continues at "epidemic proportions" so they "go to the neighborhoods facing police brutality, ICE raids, poverty, and evictions, talk to people about the problems they face, and organize people in collective struggle."

The comrades are happy to unite with "anyone facing oppression" as they collectively face struggles like fighting against white supremacists, the American patriarchy, Christian fundamentalism, and anti-LGBTQ violence and discrimination.

They're inspired by The Young Lords, the Black Panther Party and Anti-Racist Action.

They tell young people to "drop out of college" to lead "mass struggles" on a full-time basis.

They recommend following the "basic principles of the mass line method of leadership" as described in Mao Zedong’s Some Questions Concerning Methods of Leadership.

"Mao put it well back in 1943, in a way that’s sadly even more applicable to our situation today than the context he was writing in: 'We Communists must be able to integrate ourselves with the masses in all things," writes Dare To Struggle.

That's presumably what the small group of protesters wanted to do in Guilford yesterday -- "integrate themselves with the masses" of students...

And perhaps introduce them to communism.
