Anti-ICE activists are holding a whistle kit making party on May 24th in Enfield at the United Church of Christ.
The Perseus Project announced the event "in preparation of" marching in the Middletown Pride Parade, and said to expect "antifascists, snacks and laughs."
The Perseus Project first appeared in February 2026 when it invited "comrades" to join a private signal chat to start organizing the group's activities.
They are, of course, strongly opposed to the "fascist Trump regime."
Perseus' mission, in part, states:
"Because it’s clear that ICE’s enforcement is ethnic cleansing and policing dissent, we understand that by acting towards our mission we begin to uproot the deepening grasp of white supremacy, Christian nationalism, the war on the working class, misogyny, trans and homophobia as well as authoritarianism in America."
These are the kind of people who dox ICE officers on Facebook.
They receive and amplify tips about ICE from other activists, like BLM 860, Danbury Area Unites for Immigrants and New Haven Immigrants.
They promise, "we have fascists to fight" while providing guidance on field dressing a gun shot wound.
They share "rapid response alerts" when ICE is conducting operations, and "follow the precedent set" by their comrades in Minnesota in documenting ICE activity.
The group recommends using the military-grade "SALUTE" method for documenting ICE activity, and promotes propaganda suggesting "they" — meaning the Trump Administration — have declared war against us."
Perseus's Johnny Rivera even wants to use the community Rapid Responders to "man our polls as a counter measure and declaration" against ICE... not that it matters after Governor Lamont signed legislation restricting federal law enforcement at polling locations.
This is not the group's first time making anti-ICE whistle kits, by the way.
The Perseus Project previously raised its "first $1k" in 72 hours in exchange for one of the leaders wearing an "antifascist frog suit" to No Kings 3.
The money funded 1,000 whistle kits to share with "our communities in the event of ICE occupation."
The Perseus Project isn't exactly a fan of Israel, either.
Instead they believe that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) trained ICE to "serve as a paramilitary in the United States and enforce obedience to Trump's authoritarianism while ethnically cleansing America."
And they believe the underlying cause of all of this is "white supremacy, and the threat of the majority of the American population NOT being white."
Meanwhile, according to CT Data Collaborative, ICE arrests in Connecticut increased from 247 in 2024 to 405 in the first seven months of 2025. Deportations increased, from 142 in 2024 to 164 as of July 2025.
More of those arrests take place in the community rather than inside a jail or prison -- you can thank the Trust Act for that.
Community arrests accounted 88% of arrests in 2025 (Jan-July).
The Connecticut towns with the largest number of deportations include Hartford, Stamford, Danbury, Waterbury and Bridgeport.
The majority of people who have been apprehended in Connecticut come from Central and South America and Mexico.
