Drag storytime is coming to Guilford on Thursday, June 4th.

The Big Hearts Book Club at Guilford Free Library is hosting "Pride Month & Drag Storytime" for children aged five to eight.

The event is part of a monthly series of social-emotional and/or growing-up milestone events meant to teach young children empathy.

The discussion for the youngsters on June 4th will be about "what exactly is LGBTQ+" with drag queen Bleach, who will be reading picture books about the queer community and doing a related craft activity.

Children who attend will receive a free copy of book related to the theme of Pride Month.

Presumably Bleach, whose email handle is "bleach please xx," will keep it clean for the five-year olds.

Note that Guilford is not Bleach's first drag storytime this year.

On May 17th, Milford Pride hosted a drag storytime in front of Mermaid Books.

Bleach read a couple books to a small group of young children and their caretakers, including Julian Is A Mermaid, which is about boy who liked dressing up like the women in the mermaid parade, and Family Is Family, which is about a baby chick with two moms.

Bleach says during the "majority of my drag tenure I've experienced what I was expecting which is lots of love connection and unity."

One has to wonder if Bleach is also expecting "lots of love connection and unity" through drag performances for children.

Guilford Free Library isn't the only place hosting drag storytime for children this summer.

Middletown Pride Fest on June 6th features a drag story hour at RJ Julia Bookstore.

Hartford Pride has a drag queen storytime planned for June 13th.

Crayloca, who is also apparently a multi-horned witch, and "Love Monster" the puppet will be reading some stories in conjunction with the Hartford Public Library, Hartford Pride Center and Elmwood Productions.

And then there's drag story time on June 20th at the East Hampton Public Library with Summer Orlando...

who is returning for a repeat performance.

    God help us all............

If they are so "community-minded" and want to entertain, why do they never have any events at Senior Citizen centers?

Normalizing perversion by the mentally ill. Back to your closets where you won't do any harm to vulnerable young minds. Shame on the libraries for allowing such child abuse.
