Connecticut Senator Richard "Da Nang Dick" Blumenthal didn't waste any time sharing his thoughts about the indictment of former FBI Director James Comey.
Blumenthal reacted to the news live on MSNBC tonight.
"The old saying, 'what comes around goes around'," said Blumenthal. "You know, today it's a Republican president, but degrading the democracy and ruining, literally perverting, the great ethos and tradition of the Department of Justice, where I was in awe when I walked through those halls as a federal prosecutor."
"I think it's time for Republican colleagues to say enough is enough, and we are going to push them and push them and do it hard on the Senate floor, privately, in the judiciary committee," promised Blumenthal.
Meanwhile, James Comey just issued a cringey video in response to his indictment.
It started out with Comey saying that he and his family "have know for years that there are costs to standing up to Donald Trump" and then he added smugly that they "couldn't imagine" themselves "living any other way."
"We will not live on our knees," promises Comey. "And you shouldn't either."
He says he's not afraid, reciting a quote that "fear is the tool of a tyrant."
He told people to stay engaged, pay attention and "vote like your beloved country depends upon it, which it does."
He said his heart is broken for the DOJ, but claimed he's innocent.
"Let's have a trial," said Comey.
Of course the part of Comey's message that resonated with Connecticut's junior Senator, Chris Murphy, was the quote about "fear" being the "tool of a tyrant" ... because practically not a single day goes by without Murphy calling Trump a tyrant, fascist, etc.
Comey is expected to turn himself in on Friday.

Mr. Blumenthal is ignoring that this is the response to the Biden Administrations misdeeds, so this is the WHAT GOES AROUND part of the process, Dick. More importantly, whether there is a conviction or not, the American people need their government to defend the Rule of Law, to restore trust in government, and to deter future misuse of government (crimes) by open, public prosecution and shaming.
It's all political theater.
