As Jews around the world prepare for shabbat, I would like to start this off with a moment of silence for the 300 days since the tragic events of the Hamas terror attack at the Nova Music Festival in Israel.

This is a much more somber shabbat for most. Many believe Israel would strike back and this matter would be resolved quickly despite the world opposition and evaluating their military response under a microscope.

Many also believe that the hostages would have been released by now, but that is not the case. It is tragic to say that yesterday the United States involved American troops in this conflict by sending 12 warships to the Middle East.

The US’s response is due to poor diplomatic management by the United States from Biden/Harris and many of our elected officials and pandering for the Muslim vote.

Israel has been asking for months for the weapons it needs to fight the war on its own. Unfortunately, this lack of support from the United States has resulted in Israel’s need to go onto the offensive now in multiple theatres of war. While Israel has been successful in certain missions, and has taken out multiple leaders, including Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, and others responsible for death of many American soldiers, the likelihood of retaliation is incredibly high. and the US and Israel are preparing for the response from Tehran and its proxy countries.

Netanyahu has said his country is “prepared for any scenario — both defensively and offensively,” and added that Israel “will exact a very heavy price for any act of aggression against us.” (source)

As a result, almost all airline carriers have cancelled service to Israel stranding Israelis around the world and isolating it once again.

As a Jewish American in the United States, it is disappointing to hear from Israelis that they feel safer in Israel under a threat of attack from multiple Arab nations then they do in the United States. What they’re referring to is the unbelievable amounts of antisemitic behavior and sanctioned attacks from these “peaceful protesters“ that destroy property, desecrate our nations capitol, and attack Jews and supporters of Israel while chanting for Free Palestine.

Unfortunately, most American leadership, especially in Democrat controlled cities, have done nothing. There was a massive counter protest in Times Square earlier this week with children injured by a protestor with pepper spray (see article).

It is really disgusting to see Biden/Harris and many top democrats snub Benjamin Netanyahu. Vice President Harris, the presidential nominee for the Democrat party at this point, decided to go to speak with sorority sisters and secure the black vote over showing support for our most important ally in the Middle East and our proxy soldiers to take on Iran.

As the Democrats search for a VP nominee, PA Governor Josh Shapiro, has been presented as a possible candidate. That will likely not happen due to the strong Muslim vote from Minnesota and Michigan putting pressure on the Democrat party not to put a Jewish man as a VP candidate.

As Netanyahu said last week in one of the most powerful speeches to the Joint Session of Congress, NEVER AGAIN IS NOWSee our article on his historic speech.

Chants of “Heil Hitler” are yelled at the Olympics, an event to bring out the best in the world and unify through healthy competition.

In the aftermath of October 7, antisemitism here in Connecticut is incredibly high. In Westport, posters of all the hostages were placed on the Ruth Steinkraus Cohen Memorial Bridge were vandalized. Yesterday, Run4TheirLives-Westport and other humanitarian organizations will held a vigil on that Bridge to replace those hostage posters (see WestportLocalPress: Anti-Semitism). Grassroots organizations have grown since October 7th throughout the country, including Run4TheirLives, and the local chapters that have sprouted up to bring awareness. In January, Melinda Wasserman created the Westport chapter of that group.

It was great to participate last night and see such unity and solidarity in the Westport community and this will only continue.

It is tragic to see destruction of property and overt displays of antisemitism throughout the 4th District, including swastikas painted at AITE High School in Stamford (see Swastikas, racial slur found painted at Stamford's AITE high school).

If you are reading this and are asking yourself what you can do - I have some suggestions:

    1. Check in on your Jewish friends and see how they are. Many are walking in fear to hide any chains and jewelry with Stars of David or in Hebrew
    2. Join These Groups - The Westport group of Run4TheirLives leads marches on Sundays at 11 AM starting at Playhouse Square. For a list of locations click here
    3. Vote for politicians who truly support Israel and not in Name Only.

I am the most pro-Israel candidate running for Congress.  I firmly support Israel’s right to defend itself and I am appalled at how America has ignored its most important ally in the Middle East and first line of defense against Iran and other Arab nations.

On August 13th,  Stand up for America, Israel and against Antisemitism and VOTE GOLDSTEIN ON AUGUST 13 so I can take on Jim Himes who is not a supporter of Israel and has supported CAIR while taking money from AIPAC.

    Dear Dr. Goldstein,
Are you a dual citizen of the U S and Israel? No answer is forthcoming on the internet.
Just a general thought regarding dual citizenship, I am reminded of the bible verse …you cannot serve two masters Matthew 6:24.
We need to support our allies especially Israel as Yahweh has charged us but we want 100% loyalty to the U S at the same time.
    Godspeed brother.

I have read in another article on this site that Dr. Goldstein’s solution to insurgents taking over our campuses, he wants to RESTRICT our first amendment rights. Do not negotiate my first amendment rights. The problem is you let people into this country who hate us, into our universities through visas and unvetted illegal entry. Their actions went beyond peaceful protests. You should deal with the problem on that level.

Now that you mention it: CRT1619 is obama's and holder's "mein kampf", ghost written in Chicago.
I thought it was "never again"?
    What happened?
