Corey A. DeAngelis, a school choice advocate, has been talking about the hidden agenda of the NEA for quite a while now. Here is his story from FOX News:

DeAngelis published the NEA's 2025 Handbook before the Union had time to scrub it from the internet. It is shown above. Some lowlights he found:
Most of the points and quotes are much more extensive and damaging in the document. Also, there are sections about mandating politically correct pronoun usage and eliminating free speech and opinions.
In fact, they have a HUGE section regarding "Pronouns";
The National Education Association believes that an individual’s name and pronouns are of utmost importance. Therefore, all educators must treat students and fellow educators with respect and dignity. The Association acknowledges that students and educators experience discrimination from the effects of mispronunciations, misgendering, misrepresentations, incorrect documentations in systems of record, or the usage of deadnames. Regardless of intent, the long-lasting negative impact on the individual, classroom, and work environment is deleterious in nature and detrimental to teaching and learning. Therefore, the Association believes student and educator names and pronouns should be treated with respect and dignity by making efforts to understand and implement proper pronunciation, punctuation, stylization, individual preference, cultural norms, context and times of usage, and a true understanding of the discrimination experienced when these aspects of a person’s name and pronouns are disregarded.
Executive Director, Kim Anderson, made highly inflammatory comments about President Trump:
Simply stated, the consolidation of power sought by this president is being pursued through chaos, cruelty, control, and corruption. These are tactics designed to stoke fear and control what we say and where we say it. And the motive is to line billionaires’ pockets with tax breaks, compelling their blind loyalty and silence.
Trump, like other dictators, is betting that this formula will instill enough fear in the American people that we begin complying with authoritarian rhetoric and edicts, even before the constitutional challenges to them are settled by the few impartial courts that remain.
NEA members are already demonstrating that we will not “adjust our behavior” to fit the cruel, unlawful, and unconstitutional demands of this authoritarian regime. We are rejecting the efforts to censor curriculum. We are fighting to protect our students’ safety, well-being, and the right to learn. We are marching in the streets. We are joining with parents and allies to promote, protect, and strengthen public education by organizing, mobilizing, litigating, and advocating. And we will continue to lead.
So much for the call to "lower the temperature of the rhetoric in this country" that so many Democrats have blamed on Conservatives. This so called "non-partisan" union is HIGHLY partisan.
Notice that nowhere in her quote does Ms. Anderson discuss academics or helping students actually learn. She also doesn't mention parental rights. They don't exist ANYWHERE in this document. They talk about parental partnerships, but only as parents are controlled by the SCHOOLS.

The convention’s resolutions – which were leaked to me by an NEA conference attendee – were a masterclass in political overreach. One business item called for the NEA to "defend against Trump’s embrace of fascism by using the term facism [sic] in NEA materials to correctly characterize Donald Trump’s program and actions." Yes, the union that claims to represent educators couldn’t even spell "fascism" correctly in its official resolution attacking the president. The irony is almost too rich to parody.
And this:
Perhaps most puzzling was the NEA’s decision to "not use, endorse, or publicize any materials from the Anti-Defamation League (ADL)," an organization founded to combat antisemitism. Why single out a group dedicated to fighting hate? This move raises serious questions about the union’s priorities and sends a troubling message at a time when antisemitism is on the rise.
Here is my question to all the local teachers and particularly officers of the National, State, and Local Teachers Union. Do you believe and support all this? Is this what you bought into? Is this what you want your hard-earned dues to fund? Do you really think the Union is on your side?
I know some of you and I know you don't support this. I know that you care about your students and want them to achieve academically. I know you don't buy into all of this insanity.
But, you are silent. You allow your local, state and national leadership to represent you in this way and to claim that you believe in so many of the lies. You don't speak out. Maybe you don't think your local leaders support this garbage. If they aren't protesting it, they are complicit.
Maybe you're afraid if you say something, you will get a response like this:

A teachers' union member was reportedly told that fighting against President Donald Trump was more important than teaching reading and writing at this year's annual National Education Association meeting.
According to the Free Press, a convention delegate from Texas summarized the National Education Association’s "new business items" as having more political motives.
"[O]ne convention delegate from Texas summarized them by telling me the response that a friend of hers got while trying to talk to other union members about the best ways to teach reading and writing," the Free Press reported.
"We don’t have time for that. We’ve got to fight Trump," her friend was told.

Perhaps you didn't know about any of this. After all, NEA pulled their handbook off the internet shortly after it was released by Mr. DeAngelis. Most education-oriented publications said nothing about statements made at the NEA Convention or the fact that the Union cares nothing about improving education or teachers' working conditions in the United States. Do they say anything about protecting teachers from increasing student violence?
Union members, YOU ARE PAYING FOR THIS WITH YOUR DUES as well as the six figure salaries of over a hundred NEA employees.
You can't claim ignorance anymore.
Now it's time for you to say something, do something, and even pull your dues out of this horrible organization. If you don't, you are saying you believe in what they say. And, you are being used to fund this organization and the hatred they spewed in their HANDBOOK.
