"My son just came home from school, proudly showing me his first homework assignments of the year," exclaimed Simsbury Public School mother Elvira Syed. "The first one is from his biology class — a questionnaire asking him which pronouns to use: He, She, or They. And here’s the kicker: he has to choose where those pronouns should be used — with my family, with his peers, with school administrators, or with nobody at all."

"Translation? If my son doesn’t “authorize” the school to share his pronouns with me, I’m automatically excluded. The school gets to know more about my child than I do," said Syed.

The second assignment, which came from Spanish, asked “what gender would you like me to use when speaking Spanish to you?”

"Make no mistake: this isn’t about respect, this is about secrecy. It’s about driving a wedge between parents and children," warns the Syed who unfortunately knows exactly what she's talking about.

That's because her older daughter, Ilene, was socially-transitioned at Simsbury High School without Syed’s knowledge or consent.

Tragically, Ilene eventually took her own life, caught up in transgender insanity.

"Parents, listen carefully: according to our schools, you are not a ‘safe’ place for your own kids. The state knows better. The teachers know better. And you? You’re just supposed to stay out of it," said Syed pointing out the "safe space" stickers above certain teacher's doors, including one featuring a transgender heart.

Simsbury Public Schools (SPS) still maintains a focus on equity, with a Director of Equity & Access focused on the district's commitment to an "equitable" system. The subtle language of "inclusion" is further built into the 2025-2030 strategic plan. And even the hiring process has been rejiggered to focus on equity.

The SPS "equity statement" says the district is all about the "dismantling of racism and all forms of marginalization that impede growth and harm our community."

Even the Town of Simsbury promotes "equity" through the Simsbury Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council, which most recently met on August 12, 2025.

All of this goes to show you that despite the intentions of the Trump Administration to end divisive equity programs and to stop attempts to indoctrinate students with delusional transgender ideology, educators in Connecticut may have totally different plans.
