Connecticut public school parents are outraged after seeing a photo taken allegedly inside Glastonbury East Hartford Magnet School (GEHMS) -- an elementary school -- highlighting "racial justice projects" from fifth graders.

The posters feature slogans like "I like my ICE crushed" and "melt ICE" and "abolish ICE" along with "black lives matter" and a bunch of Marxist fists in the air.

"Children being led by the nose by teachers professing their political views on them," complained one person on Facebook. "That is not their job and that is not what they should be doing."

GEHMS is one of the Capital Region Education Council (CREC) "Schools of Excellence" -- CREC operates 9 elementary schools, 10 middle and high schools and 4 student service centers. More than 30 public school districts are members.

This is the landing page for CREC:

DEI is front and center in everything CREC does.

The organization works to "create a culture where DEI is threaded into our day to day practices and interactions with staff, students, and community members."

CREC is dedicated to perpetuating the toxic, anti-racist ideas of race huckster Ibram X. Kendi -- the man who declared, "the only remedy for past discrimination is present discrimination; the only remedy for present discrimination is future discrimination."

Just to be clear what CREC means when it talks about racial equity, it provides a glossary of core terms.

CREC defines social justice as "a vision of society in which the distribution of resources is equitable” -- this sounds very much like a communist-style redistribution of wealth.

Other definitions on the list reinforce overtly racist views held by CREC, for instance defining "whiteness" as a social and political construct based on beliefs, values, behaviors, and attitudes that results in "inequities in power and privilege based on skin color."

Telling white people they are privileged based solely on the color of their skin is, of course, blatantly racist and directly opposed to the teachings of Martin Luther King, Jr, who envisioned a society where people were instead judged on the content of their character.

Yet not only does CREC inject these racist ideas into magnet schools, it also offers consulting services to other school districts in the state.

For example, Greenwich Public Schools hired CREC in 2020 to "lead a struggle session" for educators "based On Robin DiAngelo's Book, White Fragility" after the death of George Floyd.

So it probably shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that fifth graders in this school are being indoctrinated into becoming progressive social justice warriors.

How much longer are taxpayers are going to put up with their money being used like this?
