We are at a loss for words after the horrific assassination of Charlie Kirk in broad daylight yesterday — doing what he loved most, engaging with students in political conversation on a college campus.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, especially his young children who will never have an opportunity to know their father like they should.
We are also mortified at those who have chosen to make light of this tragedy, to celebrate it, or worse, to say he deserved it because of his views on the Second Amendment. No one deserves to get killed like that.
We are equally upset by those who have decided to blame the gun, when it was the sniper behind the gun who pulled the trigger. That is not “gun violence” and the people politicizing his death as such should be ashamed of themselves.
Most of all we are disappointed in our junior Senator Chris Murphy, who posted a rather twisted thread on X last night in which he ends up blaming President Trump and “his celebration of January 6th” for normalizing political violence and calls for putting the J6’ers back in jail.

We hope that you all continue to honor the work that Charlie did and the incredibly powerful movement he started.
We know so many young conservatives in Connecticut, especially young men, who looked up to Charlie as a positive role model, and felt inspired by his campus debates, events and podcast. He taught young people to be brave and to find the courage to stand up for what they believe in, to speak their truth, and to embrace their spirituality.
Rest in peace, Charlie.
You will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.
In addition to tonight’s vigil in Greenwich, we know there is another vigil at 5:30pm in Guilford, Connecticut.

Let's not let the despicable Chris Murphy distract, obfuscate, or blur the reason/motive for Charlie Kirk's assassination. Charlie was targeted by the organized American Left, because he was the first person in 80 yrs to lead America's youth to the RIGHT. And he was doing it so effectively. Take a look at the crowds- no one can do that on today's campuses. The indoctrination of America's youth is the deep underpinning of the Leftists since they left Frankfurt for Columbia in the mid-1940s.
