    Cheatle Faces House Oversight Committee

US Secret Service director Kim Cheatle is facing the music today in Washington, DC. To her credit, she has repeated that the buck stops with her. "As the director of the United States Secret Service, I take full responsibility for any security lapse," Cheatle stated today.

On the other hand, Cheatle has been evasive and seemingly unprepared at times. "You've had nine days," Rep. Byron Donalds repeatedly said when Cheatle gave uncertain answers to basic questions regarding the timing of events on July 13th.

Rep. Nancy Mace minced no words when it comes to Cheatle's performance in the hearing. "You're full of sh** today," she exclaimed.

Cheatle's tone is resigned. She has offered no spirited answers, nor has she meaningfully challenged any of the representatives who have questioned her. She seems somewhat listless, as if she is aware of the outcome of the hearing already.

Rep. Pat Fallon (TX-R) landed a particularly harsh blow when he forcefully stated that Cheatle should be fired and "go back to guarding Doritos," a reference to Cheatle's 3-year stint as head of global security for PepsiCo prior to being awarded the USSS director role by Jill Biden's office.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-D) and Daniel Goldman (NY-D) used their time to further vilify the AR-15 platform which was allegedly used by Thomas Crooks in his alleged role in the assassination attempt of Donald Trump. "Clearly we have to do something about the prevalence of AR-15s and weapons of war on our streets," Goldman stated.

The comments on YouTube exploded with incredulous reactions to Goldman's take. "Yeah would've been much better outcome with a .30-06 smh", one wrote. "M1 Garand probably more accurate," another jeered.

In an odd coincidence that will get conspiracy tongues wagging, Cheatle mentioned that Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee was heavily involved in Secret Service oversight. Jackson-Lee died unexpectedly six days ago, just three days after the assassination attempt.

    This is a developing story.
