Greenwich Police made an announcement about a disturbing incident that happened on May 7th on Greenwich Avenue.
An adult male, Kevin R. Morris, followed two juvenile girls out of an ice cream shop, and then into Starbucks.
The girls told store staff they were scared, and fortunately Starbucks staff helped the girls remain safe until police arrived.
Morris later admitted to police that he was following the girls and he apparently also made an inappropriate remark about his behavior in the Starbucks bathroom.
What makes this so much more troubling is that the man appears to have shared an incredibly disturbing video on Twitter under the account name "Pat Butsak" a perhaps "suggestive" alias.
In the video "Butsak" said he had been dreaming about doing unspeakable things to young girls aged 11-14, and specifically in Greenwich.
He sounded sick, twisted and demented in the video, and his appearance was disheveled.
A number of concerned residents contacted Greenwich Police, the First Selectman, and other local organizations to make sure everyone knew about the very specific nature of this threat.
"Butsak's" account was reported to X, and subsequently suspended.
A Facebook account that allegedly belonged to Morris has also been deleted, but not before folks grabbed some screenshots.
What makes the story even more disturbing is that Morris allegedly has other recent convictions under his belt, according to David Colbree, a retired Greenwich Police Sergeant.
Greenwich Police charged Morris with second-degree breach of peace in connection with yesterday's incident.
Suffice it to say these incredibly courageous and quick-thinking girls really dodged a bullet, and we are so happy to know they are now safe.
And hats off to the staff at Starbucks and of course to the Greenwich Police Department for keeping these girls safe from a potential predator!
