First Selectman Fred Camillo announced last month his intentions of to dox anyone who made a Freedom of Information Act request in the Town of Greenwich.

    He has kept his promise.

"I pledged a few weeks back to make the public aware of the Freedom of Information Act requests that we have been getting here at Town Hall," wrote Camillo in his Community Connections newsletter. "We have received a lot of them and we have listed the ones we have received between June 17 and July 10 right here."

Camillo called the FOIA requests received during the last month "largely minor and innocuous requests for information, particularly for information from the fire department about underground tanks."

These kinds of requests are typically made by Realtors as part of title searches.

Camillo plans to continue to dox anyone who makes a request for public information in Greenwich going forward on a monthly basis.

Greenwich residents have pointed out how Camillo's move could have a "chilling effect on free speech" and suggested simply making everything public like Florida's Sunshine Law.
