It hasn't been even three days since the assassination attempt of Donald Trump, and already the mainstream media in Connecticut is right back at it again.
So much for toning down the nasty rhetoric!
Hearst political columnist Dan Haar actually argued today against national unity in the wake of the Trump assassination attempt.
What kind of person could be against national unity, especially considering how divided our country is right now? Can you imagine?
Haar says that national unity is a "trap" and people shouldn't "fall for it."
"If Donald J. Trump wants to bring the country together under the quasi-religious claims that God saved him for a purpose, I say, no thank you," writes Haar in a rather angry column. "He wants to show he's a new man after a lifetime of swindling, now that he lived through a near-death experience? Let him do it on one of his golf courses with a 9-iron in his hand, not the keys to the free world."
He seems concerned that the assassination attempt has turned Trump into a "legitimate candidate whose views on this or that issue actually matter."
Go figure.
His views actually do matter to millions and millions of people -- and even more now that he's been dubbed the "ultimate American badass of all time" by Dana White.
Haar says that all that matters is Trump's character... and then he proceeds to rattle off a list of misinformation, half-truths and outright lies that the fake news media has been peddling for years about Trump... who is actually one of the kindest and most generous people in the world.
"I've been accused of having TDS, Trump Derangement Syndrome. Not true. I have nothing but love in my heart as I describe this cretin who slept with a porn star around the time his son was born to his new wife, and who spent the assets of his "charity" on paintings of himself. Nothing but love," writes Haar who, despite what he says, is clearly suffering from TDS.
Um, hey Dan, Trump didn't sleep with Stormy Daniels, a fact you probably haven't seen in Hearst's left-wing publications. He's not a rapist. He is not Hitler. He did not "end reproductive rights" in this country. He doesn't mock victims of violence.
These are the cries of a desperate media that has been losing credibility for spinning a false narrative about Trump ever since he came down that escalator.
