I live in Guilford on a short, dead-end street with a cul-de-sac. On July 4th , I displayed a 12”x18” lawn banner which said “Trump 2024, Keep America Great” with an American flag on it. At the time, it was the first Political sign in my neighborhood. Today my house is surrounded by multiple Harris/Walz signs.
One of them says “We’re Not Going Back, Harris for President”. This one boggles my mind. Do my Guilford neighbors really not want to return to the Trump years when there was low inflation, $2 per gallon gasoline, secure borders, safe streets, energy independence, zero wars in the Middle East or Ukraine, secure and fair elections, and men weren’t competing in woman’s sports?
Another says “Nope (with orange Trump hair prominently displayed on top of the word Nope), Harris for President.” Why ridicule and personally attack this man who for 8-years has endured non-stop efforts to destroy him, his family, and his businesses (even two assassination attempts) just because he loves our Country, always puts America First, and wants to keep America great?
A third sign says, “Guilford for Harris/Walz”. How arrogant! I live in Guilford, and this sign doesn’t speak for me. Noticeably absent from all these Harris signs is the American Flag.
Finally, Harris has stated unequivocally that she intends to allow the Trump tax cuts to expire if she is elected. Prior to the 2018 Trump tax cuts, the standard tax deduction for single/married people filing separately was $6,350, and for married couples filing jointly was $12,700. In 2024, the final year of the Trump tax cuts, the standard tax deductions are $14,600 and $29,200 respectively. If Harris is elected and allows the Trump tax cuts to expire, it will result in huge tax increases for all Guilford residents.
