I want to talk about something deeply disturbing, what Governor Ned Lamont is doing in response to the horrific Waterbury abuse case.

For over 20 years, a woman abused and essentially tortured a child, locking them away, starving them, and denying them any sense of humanity right here in Connecticut. The details are horrifying, and if there was ever a time to demand answers from our state agencies, this is it.

But instead of investigating how the Department of Children and Families, the agency responsible for protecting this child, failed for two entire decades, Governor Ned Lamont is choosing to shift the blame.

He’s trying to use this tragedy as a weapon to go after homeschoolers.

Let that sink in.

Instead of holding DCF accountable, he’s going after a community of parents who had nothing to do with this crime -- families who love their children, who teach them at home, and who overwhelmingly have no ties to abuse or neglect.

This is the same playbook we saw when they removed the religious exemption.

They take a horrible story, twist it, and use it to push an unrelated political agenda, ultimately one that restricts your rights as a parent and grows state control.

We’re not going to let them do it again.

The real question is where was DCF? Where were the mandatory reporters? How did a child slip through the cracks for two decades while under the state’s watch?

That’s what we need answers to.

Not more scapegoating. Not more targeting of innocent families.

Speak up. Share this. Because if we don’t stop it here, they’re coming for your rights next.

These representatives and senators make up the Children’s and Education Committee - send an email to everyone below! Let them know we want DCF held accountable, not the homeschooling community.
