CDM / Connecticut Centinal owner L. Todd Wood recently caught with Dominic Rapini, who previously ran for secretary of state candidate in Connecticut, to talk about the renewed energy to turn Connecticut red, ranked choice voting and much more.

Rapini started off talking about how he helped to support candidates in this election through get-out-the-vote initiatives, like postcards and robocalls.

While Rapini said he didn't have the final numbers, it looks like those GOTV efforts were successful, with an estimated 3,900 out of 4,300 republicans in his district who voted.

Then the discussion turned to ranked choice voting ("RCV"), which is now on the table in Connecticut.

Wood asked if it could be stopped.

"Yeah, I think we can stop it," said Rapini who explained that Lamont made RCV a campaign promise to Independents, who were "wildly" in favor of it.

Rapini has researched RCV for years by now, and submitted testimony on the topic along with hundreds of others, who are against Connecticut adopting the practice.

"Ranked choice voting violates an American principle of one voter, one vote," said Rapini who tries to help folks understand the problems with RCV.

The conversation moved onto the 2024 election, which was terrific news for Republicans overall but not so much in Connecticut which, despite moving 6 points toward Trump, still couldn't break through the blue wall.

    Was it election fraud?

"The last 20 cases of voter fraud in Connecticut, with Bridgeport being the shiny example of it... it all happened with mail-in voting," remarks Rapini as he highlights two elected officials who committed voter fraud and were caught by the State Election Enforcement Commission ("SEEC").

Rapini then recalls the time when Secretary of State Stephanie Thomas told him that "a little bit of fraud" was basically "acceptable" with mail-in voting. He comments on her lack of job qualifications, and laments that "we get what we vote for."

Rapini also talked about how he tracked down Act Blue money laundering victims in Connecticut, and offered an idea for how to investigate the source of the suspect donations.
