Last week, the Centinal reported on allegations of election interference against a mainstream media newspaper in Connecticut called The Day.
State Senate Candidate Jason Guidone and his campaign team had arranged for an "ad note" to appear in the newspaper on election day, but the printer encountered issues thanks to knock-on effects from Hurricane Helene, and was unable to fulfill the order.
While The Day was informed about the cancellation in mid-October, it did not inform Guidone's team until October 28th, nearly two weeks after the printer informed The Day about the issue, and 11 days after The Day endorsed Guidone's opponent on October 17th.
Founder of CDM and The Connecticut Centinal, L. Todd Wood, had an opportunity to catch up with Guidone to gain better insight into the "huge blow" The Day's actions had on his campaign strategy. They also discussed a referendum question on Connecticut's ballot this year regarding "no excuse" absentee voting, which is "hard no" for Guidone, and more.
