**WARNING - Uncensored images from sexually-explicit kid's library books appear in this article**
We've been thinking long and hard about why so many democrats, librarians and teacher's union members in Connecticut are dead set on keeping sexually explicit materials in school and public libraries.
And it didn't occur to us until a very wise friend pointed to a meme over the weekend, and said, "I get it all but the OnlyFans reference….what am I missing?"
It seems our friend missed that May 2024 study from sex toy company Bedbible which found Connecticut had the highest number of OnlyFans content creators per population.
For those of you who don't know, OnlyFans is an adults-only subscription site where people upload their very own adult content.
The study revealed Connecticut had 2,464 OnlyFans creators, the highest per population of any state, and 97% of the accounts were based in and around the "welcoming city" of New Haven, earning these adult performers a median of $427 per account per month.
Students in New Haven can barely read and do math, but thanks to OnlyFans as a potential income generator once they turn 18, along with an endless array of school and public library books that feature step-by-step instructions on performing sex acts, perhaps they needn't worry about test scores!
Sure, our hypothesis may be nothing more than a cheeky joke, but in all seriousness, why in the world are so many Connecticut democrats, librarians and teacher's union members pushing the library books bills?
And we say "bills" plural because in addition to the "don't ban library books" bill, SB 1271, which protects librarians over parents, there's now a new bill, SB 7014, which transfers authority over sexually explicit materials in school libraries from Boards of Education to librarians and serves as a backdoor to Comprehensive Sex Education. There's a hearing on SB 7014 TOMORROW, Feb 26.
Okay, so maybe dems aren't actually saying they want to retain the title of "Most OnlyFans Creators" per capita.
What's the real intention behind "protecting access" to a library book like Let's Talk About It, for instance, that teaches underage kids they should research kinks and pornography on the internet?
The book, which can be found in the young adult section (ages 12+) of Greenwich Library, tells kids "there's nothing wrong with enjoying some porn, it's a fun sugary treat."
Then it tells them to research their favorite porn performers and find out which paid sites they recommend for porn. Like OnlyFans?!?!
The way democrats talk about it, you'd think they are simply "protecting our libraries and our students rights in terms of access" because "access to knowledge is a key Democratic principle" and crazy conservatives are trying to take that right away.
In fact, that's exactly what Senator Bob Duff, CEA teacher's union president Kate Diaz, CEA vice president Joslyn DeLancey, and school library media specialist Jenny Lussier just said in their recent conversation on why they believe Connecticut needs a "Freedom to Read" bill.
One of the reasons, Duff said, is to reject the "fringe" and "loud" element that tries to intimidate librarians, school board members and teachers -- the element otherwise known as parents.
It's worth mentioning that Duff thinks the whole book issue is just being made up because he's never seen any troublesome books... which either means he ignored the submitted testimony in opposition to the library books bills (SB 1271 and SB 7014), or he's perfectly fine with your children having access to this content.
Duff says you need to "stand up for what is right and reject the fringe element."
But for him, what is right appears to be ensuring underage children have access to X-rated content, while rejecting parents who think X-rated books belong in the adult section of the library.
He called the whole "book ban" issue nothing but "fake outrage" launched "by a bunch of conservatives" who are using distractions, confusion and chaos to "flood the zone" so Trump can pass tax cuts to billionaires.
We see he got his talking points.
NOW WE HAVE A VERY IMPORTANT AND URGENT ASK.
And definitely take a moment to submit written testimony. Our friends at the Family Institute have done a terrific job summarizing the issues at stake with SB 7014, and offer guidance on submitting testimony.
Thank you for helping to protect children in Connecticut!
And you all think there can be:
“Compromise”
“Peace”
“Unity”
“Equality”
Heh, heh, heh. You’re funny.
Shut your pie hole and get back in your cell, Christian, er, hater…
or, maybe put your armor on and tell Satan to get behind you… and then some.
