Having won an uphill battle to secure the Republican nomination, Dr. Michael Goldstein is fighting an entrenched Democratic incumbent who refuses to debate him.
Armed with a war chest of over $2,000,000, much of it from his old pals at Goldman Sachs, Congressman Jim Himes prefers to run out the clock while a compliant media allows him to do so. Even the League of Women Voters doesn’t want to bother with the race, offering only to arrange a Zoom debate rather than their usual forum with voter and media attendance.
Himes’s strategy is quite effective to ensure victory, but is this good for Fairfield County? While the perception is that everyone in Fairfield County is fat and happy, this is simply not true.
Housing prices and rents have skyrocketed thanks to the Biden/Harris policies that Jim Himes voted for. Few businesses are moving into the area. Our children cannot afford to live here.
Route 95 and the Merritt Parkway are parking lots. Yet Congressman Himes does not fight for money to change this. According to the Connecticut Department of Transportation, road improvements are being made in Waterbury, Hartford, East Lyme and many other towns. There is even a project to improve Route 95 in southeastern Connecticut even though the main danger there is falling asleep at the wheel since there is so little traffic! Fairfield County? Zilch.
Why? Because Jim Himes is levering his position on the Intelligence Committee so that he can blather to fawning “journalists” on CNN about the brilliance of the Biden/Harris foreign policy that has caused wars in Ukraine, Israel and Yemen.
Traffic? “So Boring!”
Health care costs? “Manana”.
Minority education? “We’ll get back to you on that.”
Car jackings? “MAGA propaganda.”
And one thing is for sure. Should the Goldman Sachs bond portfolio in commercial real estate, corporate debt and China go south, Jim Himes will be there to use taxpayer money to bail them out.
Fairfield County deserves a debate on the issues.

Absolutely, we need debates! Come out with a press conference and challenge Himes to debate or better yet hold a town hall with questions posed to both candidates from voters! It is support of censorship to not do so!
