More than 700 public health professionals, scientists and concerned constituents, including 26 individuals from Connecticut, have signed a letter opposing the nomination of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., for Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS)
The letter cites three reasons for concern.
They say Kennedy doesn't understand "how our health system works" including that the system "depends on providing support for state, local, academic and community-based partners".
They say Kennedy doesn't "respect" or "believe" in the "science".
They say Kennedy is "well known" for "conspiracy-driven theories on vaccines, COVID-19, HIV, and fluoridation" and further argued that his "unfounded, fringe beliefs" could undermine public health not just in the US, but around the world.
"It is unfathomable that President Trump, whose Administration implemented Operation Warp Speed, the historic, rapid development of highly effective vaccines for COVID-19, would now be nominating someone who is decidedly anti-vaccine and could, if confirmed, undermine not only the progress we’ve made in saving lives from COVID-19 but also from life-threatening infectious diseases including polio, tetanus, measles, mumps, seasonal flu and more," said the anti-RFK Jr. letter.
The public health constituents are urging RFK Jr.s nomination be opposed so "science" can be prioritized.
When they say "science", it's hard to forget what these public health constituents promoted during covid.
One of the petition signatories, Yale Epidemiology Professor Robert Heimer, an advocate for covid vaccine mandates, wished harm would come to those who avoided dangerous, experimental covid vaccines, hoping their “selfishness or their craziness or their willfulness in not undertaking a public-spirited approach in protecting them and others ... will suffer a little bit and it will change their minds.”
Heimer also called on CT Gov. Ned Lamont to release prisoners because the government allegedly "failed" to protect them from covid. This professor believed it was safer to release criminals back into the public, than to let them catch covid in jail.
That's the kind of "science" Heimer supports.
Another petition signatory, Reshma Ramachandran, an Assistant Professor of General Medicine at Yale, is still promoting covid vaccines, despite the fact that these are the most dangerous vaccines by a long shot according to the CDC's Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), which shows 1,658,330 reports of adverse events to covid vaccines, including 38,264 deaths, 72,721 people who were allegedly permanently disabled, and much more.
As #COVID19 spreads again & we enter peak respiratory viral season, @CDCgov's Bridge Access program meant to provide free vaccines for the uninsured expired & we still have no details on @moderna_tx's & @pfizer's patient assistance programs. h/t @cmorten2 https://t.co/6geGXXyeQK

Dr. Ramachandran has also reportedly served as a board member for Universities Allied for Essential Medicines North America, which is a member organization in the People’s Vaccine Alliance and she cohosts the "Free the Vaccine" campaign.
Another Assistant Professor in Internal Medicine at Yale, Kristina Talbert-Slagle, simply insists that, "Vaccines save lives, and they are safe!"
But has she ever looked at VAERS and noticed the massive spike in deaths reported immediately after the introduction of covid vaccines in December 2020? Wouldn't that level of death suggest that at least the covid vaccine might not be safe? Just spit-balling here...
Talbert-Slagle also promoted "social distancing" even though there was never any science to support it.
In fact, the final report issued by the House Select Subcommittee On The Coronavirus Pandemic confirmed that the six-foot social distancing requirement was not supported by science.
While we're at it, that report also said that masks and mask mandates were ineffective at controlling the spread of covid, were based on flawed studies, and caused more harm than good, especially for young children.
But don't tell that to Howard P. Forman, another Yale professor who signed the petition, and was happy to promote masks for people, even if they were vaccinated for covid.
That's the kind of "science" promoted by at least some of the constituents opposed to RFK Jr.
RFK Jr consider it a badge of honor sir.
