So here's the back story...

They (the proverbial “they”) are putting pornographic material into children's books and then putting them into elementary school libraries (now you know who the proverbial “they” are), and then, introducing legislation making it illegal to fight it. (I know, that's a “believe it or not” line...)

I contacted my local rep about this, and this brain surgeon says, “For generations, the selection of library materials—whether in public, school, or private settings—has been guided by trained librarians and educational professionals. These individuals are dedicated to serving our communities thoughtfully and responsibly, and I continue to place trust in their expertise.”

The genius put this in writing to me.

A patriot friend, also in the CT House of Representatives, decided to read a passage from one of these elementary school library books, on the House floor, to her colleagues, just to see what her Rep colleagues thought about it. She's a gutsy broad. 

The book makes reference to oral sex being performed on a woman, and describes it with these words, “eat her p_ _ _ y”.

Our brave rep friend told the House that she was reading from an elementary school library book, named the book, and that she was doing so in order to question whether or not this was appropriate material for an elementary school, library book.

The House chair stopped her and chided her for the use of the word “p_ _ _ y” on the House floor, suggesting alternative words be used: decorum, you know.

What else is there to say?

In light of that happening just a minute ago, first week in June, just as the legislature is about to go on break, let's ask ourselves... “Whom should be being fought/resisted and what are our choices?”

We could fight the House chair. We could fight the “experts” to whom my genius rep referred. We could fight the publishers of the book. We could fight the authors! We could fight the individuals in the libraries where the books are allowed. We could fight the elected officials whom are pushing this agenda. We could fight “hateful reps” who use wordy dirities on the House floor. We could fight the nosy/noisy parents who have the temerity to question the content of school library books. We could fight the elected officials who are passing laws preventing those parents from questioning book content. Any opinions? Whom should we fight?
