It seems that young Republicans have decided to stop waiting for the Republican Party of Connecticut to wake up and face the reality that it needs to nominate younger, more vibrant, more MAGA candidates like Ryan Fazio. However, to accomplish that the Party must recognize that it requires a transfusion of vibrant political blood that only young voters can provide.

A group of young conservatives have organized American Destiny, a youth group that is dedicated to correcting this dismal situation. They rightly castigate the endless list of weak, tepid “moderate” candidates that the Republican Establishment insists on serving up every election cycle as if they were a sacrifice on the altar of their Democrat Party conquerors.

Fazio is a man that recognizes the desperate need to capture the latent dissatisfaction that is overflowing in conservative youth and the necessity to ally with it in order to achieve electoral success.

He has therefore astutely embraced AmDest’s endorsement of his run for Governor of Connecticut.

The words and dynamism of these young people are far more than a breath of fresh air; their hunger for electoral victory and their willingness to work for it is the only thing that will breathe life back into the moribund Connecticut Republicans.

American Destiny’s Blake Consentino apparently has the discernment and the wisdom that the sclerotic dotards over in Republican Party Central lack when he rightly asks the question they fear to face:

"When has the status quo ever changed history?”

The answer, of course, is never, which is why History has passed the squashed Connecticut Republican Party by as if it were road-kill flattened by a speeding Democratic tractor trailer on the way to Hartford or Washington DC.

Republicans have lost every Senate election since 1982 and every Congressional election since 2008. This wretched record is further exacerbated by the fact that they are apparently satisfied with being an impotent, eternal minority in the CT state legislature. Worse still, they haven’t elected a Republican
governor in 19 years.

Connecticut needs the vitality, intelligence, fresh ideas and will to win that these young people represent.

I fervently hope that young conservatives across the state will heed AmDest’s call to action by joining with them in changing the depressing state of endless electoral failure that the catatonic, ineffective, go-along-to-get-along party elders in their RTC nursing homes have condemned them to.

We no longer need a Republican Party that seems to think its role is to demoralize Republican voters by losing election after election after election to Democrats who are adopting an increasingly poisonous socialist platform.

It's way past time for a change… and it appears that the young voters who are flocking to American Destiny have found a candidate in Ryan Fazio who understands their plight, is energized by their youthful dynamism, and is willing to stand with them in their fight to change Connecticut politics for the better.

For every end there is a new beginning, and we can only hope that American Destiny… and Ryan Fazio… can be the new beginning that Connecticut Republicans SORELY need.
