Putting aside all of the political agendas and hate fueled rhetoric which both sides have earned a badge of failure for in attempting to SOLVE A PROBLEM, yet having done nothing but fuel a further fire.
Maybe it is time for some honesty and some respectful discourse regarding what we all see and yet fail at every level to work together to resolve. Resolution in this issue by consensus and heartfelt respectful discourse is what is clearly needed, yet woefully inadequate. Our children need us as adults to rise to the occasion in this as well as other monumental controversies of our time. Should we continue to just fight and disparage one another, or start talking to each other regarding common agreements and common acknowledgement about abject failures? By failures, I mean events that include monumentally unacceptable outcomes on both sides of this issue.
A federal government law enforcement agency that exudes forceful enforcement of the last law on the books via the 1968 Immigration Act against a modern day progressive resistance force propped up via paid propaganda and legitimate public support, of which there is little viable statistics available to delineate against public polls which are running a majority supporting ICE enforcement in the country as a whole.
There is never a time whereby violent protest against our government law enforcement has left our country better or un-tainted by its results. Usually, someone or many died from such uprisings, yet their sacrifice has offered little to validate their sacrifice of protest. Especially in recent times, where so many have come to the front, yet seem to have been representative of having done so for compensation orchestrating their arrival.
I for one can say that the video portrayal of both Renee Good and Alex Pretti have shown me that neither they respectively, nor law enforcement were singularly to blame regarding the ultimate outcome. Some may disagree with my analysis, choosing one side or the other, yet in honesty there is blame to be shared regarding the behavior of each of these protesters now deceased, and the law enforcement agents responsible for their deaths.
If we as a people fail to see that fact, then we are truly doomed as a Republic in the practice of Democracy, and will reap the final judgement that comes with that.
The facts are clear on both sides of this issue, and blame needs to be acknowledged on both sides. This is the true culmination of why denial, hatred and divisiveness are non-productive and can no longer keep our nation viable in the long run if not acknowledged.
Both Renee and Alex interfered with lawful law enforcement as it exists in our country, love it or hate it, and received the consequences for having done so. The details of which are beyond disturbing and speak volumes to the furtherance of how we all would like to change the law to accommodate what we do not agree with regarding the black and white of consequences to the law and enforcement thereof.
We cannot, however accomplish that by our continued violence toward those who are employed as law enforcement doing the job they have to enforce that law that we don’t like. Just saying they are wrong and violently protesting it is not forward progress and will continue to be met with enforcement that can equal death due to incompetence and circumstance, etc and the fact is that it cannot be changed until we as a people force that change through discourse, not violence.
In the history of successful change in this republic through democracy, we can agree to include the outcome of the civil war which freed the slaves and gave us the 14th amendment, the women’s suffrage movement which gave women their right to vote via our 19th amendment, as well as the civil rights act of 1964 and it’s movement which furthered citizen’s rights via the united states constitution’s original precepts affording all citizens the rights to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness and cementing the equal offering of those rights intended for all citizens via the founding fathers who penned our constitution.
This is not an oration about semantics, but rather a heart-felt appeal to all regarding the need to stop the divisiveness and begin the healing so needed in our local, state and national politics. This nation has never done well divided, but rather has only succeeded when united. Only when the citizens of this United States, whereby all have agreed to accept and respect that which the majority of us as a unified group have agreed to protect and defend as our basis for continuing forward as one nation under God has this nation see progress.
If we want to continue as one republic under democracy, we must agree to return to respectful discourse in all of our politics. We must agree to be accepting of the law, and the proliferation of law and order for the greater good, while speaking out when there is a need to cite outrage in that enforcement, yet respecting it’s right to enforce for all of public safety that has to exist as a civilized people.
I am outraged that an officer who previously was involved in an incident whereby a vehicle dragging him and injured him, and yet he was allowed to be returned to duty negligently (this should be investigated) then he was involved in shooting and killing Renee Good, point blank through the front windshield, likely due to his untreated or undertreated PTSD and has been defended by Federal law enforcement without context as a rightful shoot (pathetic and reprehensible, no divisiveness, just truth). I am equally outraged that an officer shot Alex Pretti not once or twice but 10 times, 5 of the shots while he was on the ground posing absolutely no threat, and engaged in fire likely due to an accidental discharge from another agent’s gun or the gun already confiscated from Mr. Pretti (complete negligence of guidelines of law enforcement as if federal authorities get a different version to adhere to).
The fact that Federal Law enforcement fails to acknowledge these obvious and unacceptable failures outrages me as much as those who refuse to engage with me in legitimate respectful discourse to change the course of things that we can indeed agree to disagree but end this kind of tragedy by working together to do so, but do to hate and divisiveness refuse to work at ending. That excuse is exactly the definition and explanation for why this will continue to happen, until we collectively choose as a people to change it. For example, I think Alex Pretti was wrong to bring a gun and a second magazine to the protest, further to threaten and brandish that gun against law enforcement (as seen in videos) , and ultimately when he was apprehended initially and continued to resist, further reached in his pocket and pulled out only a magazine after his weapon was apprehended and likely discharged accidentally by inept ICE agent (inept and rookie trained law enforcement thought second gun let loose) he sealed his fate.
This unsatisfactory result above can be summarized two ways; via Biden unlawfully opening the border letting millions in, including millions of criminals (Trump is not wrong here) let loose from jails in Sout America, including sex-traffickers and drug cartel members seeking monetary business and other profiteers, against a new president that seeks to close that border and enforce the law as voted for by a national election of the people.
Much needed change to the above does not start or end with any one president or person like myself who dares to have the courage to speak out about it. This change happens when others like me see the value of ending the hate filled, non-productive divisiveness. As long as we have a President in the White House, whether now or in the past presidents that fails to unite us, and rather seeks to divide us, we must ignore that disposition to divide, and rather rise above it in order to represent what our forefathers instilled in us to do.
Our forefathers, the original constructors of our constitution told us long ago that “we the people” were given the power over this nation. To date, it seems that has never been put to the absolute test, via “we the people” asserting the power the constitution actually guarantees that we have and can use. The way we use and assert that power is not by fighting one another divisively, which results in the woefully incompetent and corrupt leaders to continue to remain in power as we devour each other. The better use of this power as “we the people” is to assert our rights over them via the tenants given us in the constitution.
We must overcome the media narratives and the distractions of the media through news, social media etc. We must organize against divisiveness and organize groups that demonstrate constructive discourse and publish realistic solutions to divisive issues. We must unite to support candidates for US Congress and US Senate and Local legislature that are not about one party control and controversy but offer support to all constituents and offer solutions to real problems. Candidates that want to engage with all citizens and represent all citizens not candidates that have open pockets and are weaponized against us via their own obvious corruption.
For those who think corruption and power do not exist, and prefer to foment a narrative of “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds”, you defeat your own formerly forceful and formidable skills as 60’s protesters who made history as you have now been obviously cataloged as itemized supporters of the “progressive democrats” in a mission to nowhere.
I am truly surprised by the demise of the once formidable cohorts of the 60’s who have truly had the wool pulled tightly over their eyes by the powers of money and power. A generation that once spoke truth to power and now supports those who work at censoring the same few courageous among us who still try to speak over power with truth.
In closing, let’s understand that “law and order” only exists if enforced. That means the whole of the description at it’s basic meaning of keeping a “civilized society” via public safety at it’s lowest level. If we allow progressive and Anti-american forces backed by money interests that seek none other than the eventual overthrow of the United States to continue to move forward toward their goal via propaganda that serves only divisive and violent means, then this nation will fall from within. To see it any other way is a failure to believe in America and it’s value as the last bastion on Earth whose inhabitants will consistently fight to the death to be free. Understanding the deeper meaning of the fact that freedom is not free.
In order to be free, we have to unite and agree and assert the courage of the very universal understanding of HOW we all can agree to be FREE together against tyranny not divided to ensure that tyranny continues to overcome all of us.
