Greenwich Public School Superintendent Toni Jones has got herself into a bit of a pickle when it comes to the "equal treatment" of community members who wish to use private school property.

It seems Greenwich Indivisible obtained approval to hold a "No Kings" political protest that included electricity and sound amplification on the steps of the Board of Education building on Greenwich Avenue on Saturday.

“No Kings" protests were backed by hundreds of communist, socialist and adjacent organizations calling for a "revolution" to overthrow a duly-elected President.

Yet Indivisible's protest was positioned as "peaceful" and "family friendly" even though protesters carried signs with calls for violence -- to "8647" or "off Trump" -- along with posters of hammers smashing the President's head, and others likening Trump to Hitler and ICE to Nazis.

There’s nothing “peaceful” or “family friendly” about invoking the Holocaust to spark a revolution to overthrow a sitting President just because a minority of Americans -- mostly communists, socialists and Marxists -- don’t like him.

We contacted Superintendent Jones, concerned about the precedent that has been set for use of private school property.

After all, what's to stop the group that marched at Town Hall in 2024 -- the "Nationalist Social Club" -- from setting up shop outside the BOE?

Once the floodgates are open, if the Superintendent rejects any requests, she could potentially open the district up to a lawsuit over viewpoint discrimination.

We reminded the Superintendent about that time in August 2021 when she called the police on Greenwich Patriots -- a group of parents who opposed divisive DEI programming and abusive covid policies with respect to masks, social distancing and vaccines -- after former BOE member and current Democrat Town Committee Chair Christina Downey told Jones about a "political meeting" happening on school property.

Ironic that the organization Downey now leads just promoted a "political meeting" on school property -- the very thing that caused her to report Greenwich Patriots to the Superintendent in the first place.

Jones responded to our email on Saturday, and said the district doesn't approve events or gatherings on school property that happen outside the instructional day, adding "the school district does not govern any of those activities as it is public space."

"If a gathering rises to the level of a hate crime, or safety for the community, that is for the police to determine, not the school district," wrote Jones before spinning her revisionist history and outright lies about what happened in 2021.

"The instance you reference from 2021 had nothing to do with the BOE member who happened to be out walking her dog as she lives in that area," claimed Jones who oddly knew that a Board member was walking her dog on a Saturday through the very parking lot where parents were meeting at Eastern Middle School (EMS).

"The police were called on the non-emergent line to see if a patrol car could stop by and ask the group to move away from the main entrance as the group had set up right next to heavy equipment, and parked a truck on the sidewalk area next to that equipment," Jones continued. "The district contractors were working through the weekend to try and complete a large project to be ready for school to start. The call was made for safety purposes. If the officer responding asked the group to leave, that was not from a school district request."

The truth is actually quite different.

By the time August 2021 rolled around, Jones and democrat BOE members had already been monitoring Greenwich Patriots meetings and certain members, upset about the challenges parents rightfully orchestrated over abusive mask and social distancing mandates that had no basis in science.

At no time were parents near any construction equipment, nor were any construction workers present or working at 9am on that Saturday morning in August.  No one "parked" on the sidewalk. Parents stood at the end of the sidewalk and on the grass, and planted two political signs to let folks know where we were meeting since we always had newcomers joining.

When Greenwich Police Officer MacDonald approached us, he told us the reason for the police visit was because the school's security officer indicated that political meetings were an "improper use" of school grounds, and that parents had "illegally" planted political signs on the grounds of the middle school -- something the "No Kings" protesters did on Saturday on BOE grounds without a hitch.

Former BOE member Peter Sherr happened to attend that parking lot meeting.

"I attended the Saturday morning outdoor gathering of school parents scared and concerned about COVID impacts on their kids in 2021," said Sherr. "Greenwich Police were dispatched by Jones and Bobkowski to kick these parents off the EMS school yard. On a Saturday morning no less."

It's not the first time Jones peddled misinformation or attempted to impact the freedom of speech of parents with conservative political viewpoints.

She previously directed a custodian to throw away posters belonging to Greenwich Patriots founder Jackie Homan, and then Jones lied about what happened.

Homan complained that Jones "didn't want me to have the Freedom of Speech to share my messages in the BOE meeting about the DEI nonsense that was being injected into the curriculum after she [Jones] had administrators do that White Fragility struggle session."

Then there's the time Jones said there were no mask and social distancing requirements tied to the ARP ESSER III covid funding when it was written directly into the Superintendent's own grant proposal.

The pattern of lies is disturbing to say the least. What kind of person lies about things that are so easily disproven? Seems just a bit pathological, doesn't it?

    Sherr agreed.

“The lies in Toni Jones’ email are astounding,” he said. “I hope she gets clinical help.”

Jones actually said in her email she doesn't approve events or gatherings on private school property which happen outside the instructional day, citing school policy.

If that’s the case, why were Greenwich Patriots informed that if we wanted to meet in the parking lot from time-to-time on weekends, we would have to submit a form to obtain approval?

Does that sound like intentional viewpoint discrimination to you?

No Kings is given carte blanche to hold a Woodstock-style party on the front steps of the BOE with a bunch of out-of-towners, funded by political activists who want to spark a full-on revolution -- but a couple dozen concerned parents meeting during covid get the run-around and are made to feel like criminals for organizing to oppose unscientific mandates and divisive curriculum?

Sadly, it's been clear for a long time that schools are biased against conservatives.

    And Greenwich is no different.

P.S. The policy Jones referenced in her email indicated the League of Women Voters is treated as an unbiased "educational" organization, yet the League of Women Voters was a key partner for the No King protests, alongside all those communist-adjacent activists.
