Black Congressmen From Poor Districts Represent White Liberals, Not Blacks

The media, the Democrats and some Black politicians are in an uproar because the Supreme Court decision, Louisiana v. Callais, made racial gerrymandering more difficult. But the good news for Blacks is now they have a chance to be represented by Black congressmen who share their values, not Black congressmen bankrolled by white liberals.

First some background. In the South, voting was once problematic for Blacks because literacy tests and poll taxes were required to register. This was rectified with the Voting Rights Act of 1965, which not only disallowed these abuses, but also mandated judicial review or “preclearance” for further legislation that could be construed to prevent Blacks from voting.

The problem is that this did not necessarily create more Blacks in Congress. Thus, the Supreme Court ruled in 1986 in Thornburg v. Gingles that districts had to be created in which Blacks could win elections, and this required placing a large number of Blacks in one district.

But this did not necessarily help the Democrats.

For example, Georgia, in 1990, had ten Congressional districts and nine were held by white Democrats. Then Newt Gingrich sat down with the Black Democrats and said, “Do I have a deal for you.” The result is that when the 1990 census gave Georgia another district, Gingrich and the Black Democrats constructed a map in which by 1992, there were three Black Democratic congressmen, one white Democratic congressman and seven Republican congressmen, resulting in happy Black Democrats, happy Republicans but livid white Democrats.

But in 2013, the Supreme court ruled in Shelby County v. Holder that preclearance was no longer necessary, and this leads us to Louisiana. The Republican lead legislature created a map that resulted in one Black district, but the Democratic Governor, John Bel Edwards, wanted two, so he vetoed it. This ended up in federal court and Edward’s view prevailed. But the Supreme Court just overturned this decision, and Louisiana can now redraw its map and eliminate at least one Black district.

The two serpentine Black voting districts of Louisiana

But when the courts forced Black districts to be created, they did not force candidates to raise money only from the constituents of that district. Since many of the Blacks in these districts were poor, the money came from outside sources, that is white liberals.

Since Blacks vote overwhelmingly for Democrats, the new congressman was not determined in the general election, it was determined in the primary. And primaries for open seats have multiple candidates, up to a dozen. And who wins this primary? The one with the most cash.

Thus Blacks are now represented by the likes of Louisiana Congressman Troy Carter. In 2024, he raised over $1,000,000, 68% from PACs (Political Action Committees), 28% large contributions, and only $899 from contributions under $200 (0.08%)! This guy is bankrolled by corporations, white liberals and rich lawyers; his overwhelmingly poor Black constituency gives him next to nothing.

So, who does he represent? The overwhelmingly wealthy white liberals who finance him. For example, did you ever here of a Black father who wants his son to dress up like a girl? Of course not. Only Westport Unitarians and Grade B Hollywood actors subject their children to this insanity. But Troy Carter is a great advocate of trans rights.

And Black Congressman dutifully blame Republicans for suppressing Black voters. But the biggest suppression of Black votes is through the disproportionate number of abortions on Black women. 13.5% of the country is Black but 35% of abortions are performed on Blacks. If the percentage was that of white women, there would be at least 15,000,000 more Black voters. It is hard to vote when you no longer exist.

But any Democratic Black congressman who had the guts to point this out would quickly find a Black primary opponent financed by rich white liberals. And he would be toast.

And look at this video of protestors against the Supreme Court decision.

Out of several hundred protestors, a couple dozen are Black. There rest are all white liberals.

But what is really fascinating is watching this video of Tennessee State Representative Justin Pearson objecting to a majority Black district being gerrymandered.

But let’s look at the present Congressman of this district, Congressman Steve Cohen and the candidate, Charlotte Bergmann, who is favored to replace him due to this gerrymander.

Hmmm. What do you notice in the pictures below?

Either Representative Pearson is entirely bankrolled by white liberals, or he has the worst case of color blindness I have ever seen! And I have been practicing ophthalmologist for over forty years.

In the long run, Blacks will be better represented by Blacks who share their values, not the values of white liberals.
