Dear Connecticut Republican Leaders and Candidates:
The past 48 hours exposed a painful truth: too many in the Connecticut GOP appease the cultural commissars rather than honor the God who raises up and tears down nations.
A young candidate quoted Scripture, colonial law, and common sense on protecting families from what the Bible calls abomination—yet the party stampeded to discard him.
This isn’t pragmatism. It’s a losing strategy. Continue, and you lose the faithful remnant who know Connecticut’s blessings were never accidental.
Qui transtulit sustinet, indeed.
Don’t Outsource Your Conscience to the Loudest Sinners in the Room
The Bible doesn’t stutter: “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil” (Isaiah 5:20). When a candidate says Pride Month is wicked, he’s not inventing doctrine—he’s echoing Leviticus, Romans 1, and every faithful preacher from Boniface to the Puritans who settled these rocky shores.
The CT GOP’s response? To condemn “rhetoric encouraging hostility,” demand withdrawal, and clutch pearls with the Democrats.
You don’t win the culture by mirroring its tone police.
John the Baptist lost his head for telling Herod his lifestyle choice was unlawful. He didn’t poll the palace first.
Christians respect courage, not consultants.
Learn to Fear God and Not Man
Yes, the Old Testament prescribes capital punishment for certain sexual sins under the Mosaic covenant, applied by a theocratic people in a specific redemptive-historical moment.
New Testament believers live under grace, but that grace does not repeal God’s moral law or the state’s God-ordained duty to restrain evil (Romans 13).
Jadon MacCormack’s bluntness made people uncomfortable because it forced a question: Do we still believe objective evil exists, or only “hate speech”?
If your biggest fear is a 23-year-old quoting the same statute George Washington’s army enforced, perhaps the real problem isn’t the candidate—it’s that your platform has more spine for tax cuts than for the families those tax cuts are meant to help.
Nations that normalize what God calls detestable won’t get a pass.
You can chase suburban moderates all day. The soccer moms will never invite you over for wine and they’ll certainly never vote for you.
The data and the demographics show faithful Christians—especially younger men tired of being told their instincts are toxic—are checking out of parties that treat biblical sexuality as optional.
Also, support for same-sex marriage is collapsing nationwide among Republicans.
Try to keep up.
Stop Sacrificing Your Base on the Altar of Respectability
You have a base—an actual base—and it isn’t spelled LGBT. The pride set laughs at you from the hills in places like New Preston.
You want to win? Stop treating Christian voters—your actual base—like embarrassing uncles at Thanksgiving.
The same crowd that built this republic is watching you disavow a guy for saying sodomy should be illegal and children should be protected. Meanwhile, the other side grooms kids with rainbows, drag queens, and scalpels.
Repent of the fear of man. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” (Proverbs 9:10).
A party that cannot distinguish between “hate speech” and “God’s law” has lost the plot.
True conservatism conserves the moral order that makes liberty possible. Without it, you’re just Democrats going the speed limit.
Stand Bold Like Boniface: Felling the Sacred Oaks of Our Age
In the eighth century, missionary Saint Boniface confronted pagan Germany’s idolatry at Donar’s Oak, sacred to Thor. Pagans dared him to strike it.
With faith, he felled it. It crashed without harming him. Stunned pagans turned to Christ; he built a chapel from its wood.
That bold act toppled a false god. Connecticut Republicans: today’s “sacred oaks” are sexual revolution idols. Swing the axe of truth fearlessly.
Practical Steps Before the Next Election
Step 1: Speak plainly about family and sexuality. Say: “We believe marriage is one man, one woman, children do best with their mother and father, and the state has no business sexualizing minors.” Watch the base turn out.
Step 2: Defend your candidates publicly when they take heat for truth. Remember Ronald Reagan’s 11th Commandment. MacCormack’s bluntness may need polishing but abandoning him signals weakness to every faithful Christian watching.
Step 3: Prioritize eternal things. Taxes and energy matter. The moral and spiritual rot devouring the next generation matters more. Put God’s priorities first and see if He won’t give you the victory this fall.
Final Words
The CT GOP keeps wondering why it’s a perpetual minority party in a formerly Puritan state. Maybe, just maybe, it’s because you’ve been playing not to lose instead of standing unashamed for what built the civilization you’re trying to conserve.
Christians aren’t asking for theocracy. We’re asking for backbone. We’ll forgive clumsiness. We won’t forgive cowardice dressed up as “electability.”
The remnant is watching. The Lord is watching. Choose this day whom you will serve—polling data or the living God. History, and heaven, record your answer.

Well said, Preacher, a serving of good, hard truth. I am not as confident that a significant portion of CT will coalesce around it.
I fear that the levied stigma of rowing against this cultural tide is more pervasive and debilitating than the actual rowing against this cultural tide.
Few are willing to shoulder it. Most are inclined to the illusion and trappings of secular ‘peace’ that is easier on their status and their “relationships”.
May I be proven wrong.
