Simsbury, Connecticut.

Connecticut State Rep. Melissa Osborne (D) flagged down Simsbury Police on August 16, 2025, to file a report about a neighbor several doors down the road from her.

It seems the neighbor had posted a giant sign outside the home stating, "Melissa Osborne (CT Congress) Needs Mental Fitness Test."

Other signs on the property said, "Simsbury women are not safe rogue police steal and terrorize" and "Simsbury Selectmen sold out Simsbury to NY / NJ Devleopers" and more.

Osborne told police that she had been the "target of on-line harassment regarding her job as an elected State Representative" and that she had contacted State Capitol Police about the threat. Osborne said her "concern grew after learning that the Minnesota State Rep., bearing the same first name" had been "killed in her home in what was believed to be a targeted attack in June."

Osborne wanted Simsbury Police to document the signs, which are protected under the First Amendment, just in case the resident at that location happened to be involved in the online harassment case being investigated by the State Capitol Police.

The online harassment case is believed to be tied to a rather prolific Facebook troll who uses the pseudonym "Andrew Taylor" -- he's the kind of guy who manages to add his two cents to many of Osborne's posts, often repeating the same point over and over again.

Like calling Osborne a "groomer".

But it's probably that comment about the "well armed citizenry with military grade weapons" that caught the attention of Osborne, and now State Capitol Police.

Of course, the internet sleuths on Facebook aren't waiting for Capitol Police to uncover the owner of the secret account. Instead, Ali Davis publicly accused Jason Fischer of being the man behind the "Andrew Taylor" account.

Fischer strongly denies being the owner of the account, and has expressed immense frustration at having his name dragged into the investigation.

"I find it waste of police resources to use them as an attempt to bully vocal critics into silence," Fischer told the Centinal. "Our representatives should know the first amendment protects criticism of elected officials."

Killingly, Connecticut.

Meanwhile, about 60 miles east in Killingly, Connecticut, another house with political signs has caused quite a bit of controversy.

Not just because of the signs, but the owner has been seen outside of his home brandishing a weapon that resembles a KelTec.

Oh, another important detail is that the man's home is a quarter mile from the entrance to the middle school, which is on the same road, so students can definitely see the signs from their buses, much to the dismay of some parents.

The owner of the home, who describes himself as "Liberal AF, and fully woke," has proudly taken full responsibility for his artwork in a post on Facebook... which starts off by saying, "PEW PEW PEW! If there is anyone in the area with a good size property that has an existing shooting range or a willingness to create one, I'd love to bring some targets and ammo over for a play date every now and then..."

Unlike "Andrew Taylor" in Simsbury, Matt Berube states he is "not a coward, hiding behind a fake name" but he is a bit of a unicorn -- a democrat gun enthusiast who used his machining background to hone his gunsmithing skills at home.

Berube describes himself as "100% proud to be extremely bigoted toward Republicans exclusively" though admitted to being a Republican before Barrack Obama hit the scene.

According to Berube, Connecticut State Police already paid him a visit to "check out" his firearm permit" and "review the rules regarding shooting threats and what he's allowed to do" on his property.

But the conclusion the officers reached, much like in Osborne's case, was that the signs are protected under the First Amendment.

Additionally, the Town of Killingly has confirmed that the signs aren't breaking any zoning laws... even if the "public graffiti board" creeped out a bunch of people when the sign said for children to "contact him directly" if their parents were the "gullible MAGA douchebag type" and wished the children a "gr8 day at school!"

And in case you're wondering who "Norm" is... he's the guy on the Killingly Republican Town Committee who blocked Berube on social media... which is probably a big issue for a free-speech loving guy who likes to rant and swear and troll people on social media.
